November 10th, 1948
The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, November 10th, 1943, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those
being present were Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy, City Manager
Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had:
I The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson,
Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Division of S.I.D. Assessment -- Opinion of City Attorney
An opinion of City Attorney Lovelace regarding the division of Special Improvement
District assessments was presented. The opinion stated that each lot or parcel of lend
should be assessed for its proportionate share of the cost of any special improvement
district, and that if more than one lot has been assessed in "bulk" the owner has the
right to demand a division of assessments and can pay the assessment on one or any
number of the lots.
Payment in Lieu of Taxes
'rhe Manager reported that during the past week the City of Bozeman has received a
check in the amount of $2,783.34 as a payment in lieu of taxes for the housing units on
the Montana State College campus.
Bids for S.l.D. No. 347 Bonds
I The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the OPening of bids for
the bonds of Special Improvement District No. 347. He presented the affidavit of publi-
cation of the Notice to Bidders, and stated that no bids have been filed. Action was
deferred until a later meeting.
Report on Trip to Misso~la
City Manager Henderson reported on the trip he made to Missoula this week, at which
time he conferred with city officials of that city.
Adj ournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this tine, it was
'noved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis~oner Healy that the meeting adjourn and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy;those voting No, none.
