HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-11-24 188 Bozeman. Montana November 24th. 1948 The Comrndssion of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room. City Hall Building. Wednesday afternoon. November 24th. 1948. at 1:00 o'clock F. M. Those present were Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe. Commissioner Healy. City Manager Henderson. City Attorney Lovelace and the Cle rk, when the following proceedings were had: The minutes of the last regular session were read. and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded I by Commissioner Healy that the minutes be approved as read. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Dropfing Advertising from Airplanes The City Attorney reported that he has written to the Municipal Law Officer's Association for information on an ordinance covering the dropping of advertising from airplanes. Regulations of the Civil Aeronautics Authority were read which prohibit dropping of anything from airplanes that would be hazardous to life or property but it was considered that an ordinance dealing directly with distribut- ing advertising from the air should still be adopted. Alley in Brady's Rearrangement of Lot 1. Block 7. B & D Addition A map showing the house that encroaches on the alley in Brady's Rearrangement of Lot l, Block 7. Babcock & DavisAddi tion was presented. The map also showed a proposed relocation of the alley to by-pass the house by means of easy curves. After discussion. it was decided that the City Engineer. Ci ty Manager and City Attorney should work out a plan for the relocation of the alley as will best serve and satisfy those concerned. I Report The rSfort of the Director of Finence for the month of September. 1948 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Request to use County's iedded Cell The Manager stated there are times when the City folice Department might have need for a padded cell. He stated there is such a cell at the County Jail. and asked permission to request the use of said padded cell from the County Comndssioners. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the City Manager be authorized to write such a request to the County Commis- sioners. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Commissioner Healy that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votin~ Aye being Mayor Sorenson.
