Thos e be ing present were Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Healy, City Manager rtenderson, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had to..wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was IT'ove d by Commie s1 on er I Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Com- missioT1er Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those vo ting No, non e. Drive"in At Willson & Babcock A communication was read from Robert Keyes, owner of property at the corner of Willson Avenue and Babcock Streets, where a drive-in ice cream store is loca ted. His Ie tter stated that to prevent cars from parking on the sid ewa lk at thi s loca ti on, he proposes to build a small curb to separate his property from the s idewa lk. Mr. Keyes was present and further proposed erecting signs to warn motorists not to park on the sidewalk. After discussion, Mr. Keyes was informed that a temporary curb might be installed on an experl- ( mental basis. The revamping of the angle parking and parallel parking on Willson Avenue between Main & Babcock Streets was also discussed. Application for City License The application of J. D. Francis for a City License was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded b;T Commissioner Lowe that the application be approved and the license issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; tho se vot 'Lng I Aye being Mayor sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; thos e votlng No, non e. Reports The followlng reports for the month of April, 1948 were presented: Employment Officer Plumbing Inspector Sanitary Inspector It was rooved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Estimate on Storm Sewer \Nest of Sixth Avenue The Ci ty Manager presen ted an outline plan of the City Engin eer "for storm sewer drainage on all streets west of Sixth Avenue atxl North of Beall street.. ---The plan in- cluded a cost estimate of approximately $132,000.00. Improvement of Streets on M S C Campus The Manager reported a request from Montana Sta te College for the Ci ty of Bozeman to consider improvement of the streets on Montana State College Campus wi th money ob tained from the Federal governmen t by Montana Sta te College in lieu of taxes from their tem- I porary housjng project. It was stated that the possibili ty of secur ing these funds, was being investigated by college officials. Creation of S.l.D. No. 347 The protest of Myron and Aura Westlake to the creation of Speclal Improvement Dis.. trict No. 347, referred to the City Attorney at the last meetlng, was given consideration a t trl is ti me . The protest was discussed and lt was pointed out that, since the ground owned by Mr. and Mrs. Westlake is unplatted and Durston Road 1s the only street adjacent 127 to 1 t, the City could not consider that ground on the basis of streets which may be laid out if and when the ground is pIa tted. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Eealy, tne t ttle City Attorney be instructed to prepare a resolution to create Special Impro vemen t Dis tri c t No. 347 for presentation at the next meeting, it beIng the inten ti on of the City Comrnis s ion I to overrule the pro tes t and crea te the district at that time unless, prior to that time, an acceptable pl~n is presented for platting the ground represented by the protest filed, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; thof'e voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commis sioner Lowe and Commis sion er Hea ly; those voting No, non e .
