HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-06-09 132 Bozeman, Montana June 9th, 1948 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the CommisAion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, June 9th, 1948, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, Cormrds sion er Heal y, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner I Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and th emotion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Com- missioner Lowe and Commissiorer Healy; those voting No, non e . Sale of S.T.D. No. 346 Bonds The Manager stated the t this we s the time and place set for receiving bids for the bonds of Special Improvement District No. 346. He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notice, and s ta ted that no written bids had been filed. Mr. Oha rIes Bell was present and submitted an oral bid to purchase the bonds at par with their interest rate at 6~ per annum. There being no other bidders, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the bid be accepted and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, COrnn1issioner Lowe and Com- missioner Healy; those voting No, none. Delivery of Garbage Truck The Mana ger s ta ted tha t the garbage truck and loader were ready for delivery at the factory and that Clarence Collier of the Street Department could go to the factory and dri ve the truck back to Bozeman. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis- I sioner Healy that Clarence Collier be authorized to go to Wayne, Michigan to drive the garbage truck and loader to Bozeman; that his expenses on the trip be paid and that he be advanced $150.00 from the Garbage Fund for said expenses, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those votlng Aye being Mayor Sorenson. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of May, 1948 were presented: Plumbing Inspector Nursery School Recreation Director It was moved by Commissioner Heal y, seconded by Commissioner L~we that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and tho motion was carried by the following Aye and No vo te ; thos e voting Aye be ing Ma yor Sorens on, Commissioner Lowe and Commissiorer Healy; those voting No, none. Water Service on Klemme Ranch The N!:anager stated tha t Mr. H. G. Klemme had made a reques t to extend the wa ter line approxima tely 800 feet a t his ranch sou th of the City to connect wi t~ an~t~~r dwelling on the same property. After dis cus si on, it was moved by Commissioner_-Healy, se cond ed by I Commissioner Lowe that permission be granted to connect to t he pres-ant line at his own expense, and providing also that the City reserves the right to discontinue the service when necessary because of a shortage of water supply for users within the City, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and Novo t e ; those vot:.ng Aye being Mayor Sor- enson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Bond & Contract for Sewage Treatment Plant The bond and contract of Haggerty-Messmer Company for the cons true tion of the s ew- age treatment plant was presented. The bond and con trac t were approved a s to form by 133 the Oity Attorney, whereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healytha,t the Mayor and the Clerk be authorized to sign the con trac t for The City 0 f Boze- man, and the bidders bonds be returned to the unsuccessful bidders and the motion was carried by the follow ing Aye and No vo te; those vo tinD: Aye b ein g Mayo r Sorenson, Commission- er Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, non e . I Liability Insurance forParks The Ma tter of liabili ty insurance for the pla ygrounds and the swimming pool was discussed, and tt was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis sioner Heal y tha t liability insurance be carried at the swimming pool and at all playgrounds and the motion was carried by the following Aye and J\To vote; those voting Aye be ing Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none..
