The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, July 28th, 1948, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those
being present were Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson, City At-
torney Lovelace and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had to-wit:

and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Applieatlons for City Licenses
The following applications for City Licenses were presented:
Sundown Auto Camp D.L. Mansfield Vernon Koelzer
It was moved by Commie sioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe tha t the applica-
tions be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vo te; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those
voting No, none.
Resolution Re -. Patching Material for City Streets
The Manager stated that, in order to obtain the necessary pavement patching material
from the state Highway Commission, a resolution authorizing the City Manager to make such
purchases needs to be adopted and presented to the Highway Commission. The Manager pre-
sented and read the following resolution authorizing the purchase of 100 cubic yards of
oil mixed stock and 2000 gallons of road oil. I
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Bozeman has need for limited quantities of road oil and
oil mixed stock for use in patching pavements, and
WHEREAS, The City of Bozeman does not have facilities for properly preparing
and storing such materials, and
WHEREAS, the Montana State Highway Commission does store and maintain stock-
piles of such materials in or near Bozeman, and
WHEREAS, it is possible for the Montana State Highway Comndssion to furnish
limited quantities of such materials to The City of Bozeman for
emergency use at $7.00 per cubic yard for oil mixed stock and cost
price plus 10% for road oil.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESaL VED:
That an emergency does exist and the City Manager is hereby author-
ized to purchase from the Montana State Highway Commission, not to
exceed, one hundred cubic yards of oil mixed stock and two thousand
gallons of road oil to be used for patching pavement in Bozeman dur-
ing 1948.

Request for Sewer Connection 1501 South Third Avenue r - - - ~...._
A written request from the Department of poultry Industry C?fMontana State College
asking permission to connect to the sanitary sewer was presented and read. It was pointed
out that this property is just outside the City Limits and therecent1y constructed sewer

district, and the t the property being owned by the Sta te of Montana ls. not Bubject to tax
levy. After consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Healy:, seconded by Commissioner
Sorenson that the City Manager be authorized to permit Montana State College Department
of Poultry Industry to have the property at 1501 South Third Avenue connected to the san-
itary sewer provided an amount 1s pAid in a lump sum to the City of Bozeman comparable
I to the cost of installation of a sanitary sewer on a like piece of property; that the
connection be made and maintained at their expense, and that the monthly sewer rental
be paid with their water bill, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vo te ; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 623 -- Inten tion to cre& te S. I .D. No. 348
The Manager stated that the City Attorney as instructed has prepared the resolution
of intention to create Special Improvement District No. 348, paving on Thirteenth Avenue
from Koch to College; Twelfth Avenue from Koch to Story; Ninth Avenue from Koch to Cur-
tiss and on Koch Avenue from Eighth Avenue to Fourteenth Avenue. He presented Resolu.

OF BOZEMAN FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING CONCRETE CURBS, GRADING THE
STREETS AND PARKINGS, APPLYING BASE GRAVEL AND PAVEMENT THERETO AND INSTALLING
NECESSARY STORM SEWERS THEREIN ON THIRTEENTH A VENUE FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF
KOCH STREET TO THE NORTH LINE OF COLLEGE STREET: KOCH STREET FROM THE WEST

protests and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye

Report
The annual report of the Fire Chief was presented. It was moved by Commissioner
Healy, seconded by Commis sioner Sorenson tha t the report be accepted and ordered filed
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those vo ting Aye being
Mayor Sorenson and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There beIng no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Healy, sec0nded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Sorneon Commissioner healy; those voting No, none.
