We have been living around the Cattail area for the past two summers. There are many wonderful parks
in this area, however the gophers are being allowed to take over and destroy trees and the lawn.
The gophers are making holes everywhere in the lawn and around trees.
They cause the trees and grass to die as they make mounds and eat the roots of trees.
Our tax dollars are being used to keep these parks maintained yet the gophers are allowed to do
whatever they want and cause destruction.
Our tax money is being wasted on constant up keep of the parks by allowing these rodents to not be
controlled
Children, parents, and dogs, play in these parks. I would think the city would be concerned about the
liability of someone twisting or breaking a leg if they stepped incorrectly. And not to mention the
diseases these critters carry is disgusting and rampant.
Also there are several vacant lots whose owners do not control the gophers. These owners mow the lots
and remove snow on sidewalks which I assume the city requires, however NOTHING is done about the
gophers.
One day while talking with a neighbor on a corner I estimate I saw between 200-300!
They were EVERYWHERE just like rats.
I am shocked and disappointed this is being ignored
