March 10th, 1948
The Commission of The City' of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commissi on Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, March lOth, 1948, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those
being present were Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; City Manager
Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had:
I The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commiesioner
Rea ly, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson,
Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Bids for Motor Grader
A tabulation of bids for a motor grader submitted at the meeting of March 3rd, 1948
was presen ted. The Commission having studied the tabulation and specifications of the
equipment bid on and considering the use to be made of the machine, the extra horsepower
and other features of the "Caterpillar No. 12 II , and the immediate delivery available on
it, the Commission was of the opinion that the selection of the "Caterpillar No. 12" from
among graders bid on would be most advantageous to the City. It was thereupon moved by
Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commls s loner Lowe tha t the bid of the Wortham Machinery
Company for a Caterpillar No. 12 Motor Grader with cab, scarifier, heater, windshield
wiper and foot-well delivered f.o.b. Bozeman at :$ 10,588 be accepted and the Mayor and
the Clerk be authorized to sign the purchase order for The City of Bozeman and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Com-
I missioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Applications for City Licenses
The following applica tions for C 1 ty Licenses were presented:

It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the applica-
tions be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner
Healy; those voting No, none.
Use of City Equipment on Private Property
The use of City equipment to clear driveways and for other work on private property
was discussed. The Manager stated that it has been the policy in the past not to use city
equipment for such purposes, and recommended that the same policy be continued. The City
Commission s ta ted the presen t policy should be con tinued.

The following reports for the month of February, 1948 were presented:
Cemetery Board City Engineer
I t was moved by Cornrris stoner Hea ly, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports
be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Healy, and Commissioner Lowe; those
voting No, none.

Cost of Sewer Connections
The Manager presented a report from the City Engineer's office stating that the
ninety-eight sewer connections made last year cost the City $537.70 more than was charged
for the connections. It was pOinted out that costs will be more this ye a r , and it was
moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis sioner Healy the t the rates for sewer con-
nections be revised to meet the present costs and the mo tion was ca rried by the fo llowing I
Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Healy and Commi~ioner
Lowe; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 620 -- Joint Recreation Supervisor
The Manager presen ted and read Resolution No. 620, a joint resolution between The
City of Bozeman and School District No.7, establishing and maintaining a .joint recrea-
tion program for the City and the Schools of the City. The Resolution stated tha t a
full-time supervisor is to be employed jointly by the Ci ty and School District No.7,
and each to pay one-half of his salary during nine months of the year and the City to
pay his full salary during the three summer months. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe,
sec0nded by Commissioner Healy that Resolution No. 620, entitled:
AN AGREEMENT A},TD JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, M'JNTANA, AND THE TRUSTEES OF SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER SEVEN OF
GALL^TIN COUNTY, MONTANA, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, ENTERING INTO AN
AGREEMENT BETWEl-<:N THE SAID CITY COMYISSION OF TIm CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA,
AND THE TRUSTEES OF SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER SEVEN OF GALLATIN COUNTY, MONTANA,
TO ESTABLISH, PROMOTE, MAINTAIN AND SUPPORT A JOINT GENERAL RECRIT.ATION PRO-
GRAM FOR THE CITY OF BOZEMAN AND THE SCHOOLS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those
voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissiorer Lowe and Commissioner Healy; tho sa voting I
No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to corne before the Commission at this time, i t we s
moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the meeting adjourn and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
