The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the CommissioD Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, March 17th, 1948, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those
being present were MRyor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Healy, Ci t Y Mana ger
Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had:
I The minu tes of the la s t regu lar session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Hea ly, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Com-
missioner Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.

It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Lowe tha t the applica-
tions be approved and the lic ens es is sued and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner
Healy; those voting No, none.
central Office for Montana Municipal League
A letter from the Montana Municipal League, proposing establishment of a central office
for the League was read. The proposal stated the t establishing and maintaining such an
office would necessitate raising present League dues so too t , in legislative years, they
would be three times the present amount and in other years, they would be twice their
present amount. The present dues for the City of Bozeman are $40.00 per year. The letter
reques ted tha t The Ci ty of Bozeman s ta te its approva 1 or disapprova 1 of the proposa 1. After
discussion, the City Manager was instructed to write to the Montana Municipal League and
advise them of the definite approval of this City of the proposal.
Bids for Auto - City Manager P-c Plumbing Inspector
I The City Manager reported that the 1935 Dodge Sedan used by the Fire Chief, is in ver y
bad condition, and should be replaced; that the car now used by himself and the Plumbing
Inspector could be used by the Fire Chief, and a new car should then be purchased for the
use of the City Manager and the Plumbing Inspector. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe,
seconded by Commis s loner Heal y tha t the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to advertise
for bids for a sedan for said use, and the motion was carried by the following hye and No
vo te ; those voting Aye being Mayor Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner tlealy;
those voting No, none.

Recreation Board Members to Remain on Board
The Manager reported on a meeting of the Board of Recreation held on March 16th,
1948 . He stated that the three remaining members of that Board, Walter Chauner, Mrs.
Elizabeth Johnston and Mrs. Jesse Bradley, felt that since, they were originally ap-
pointed to the Board to represent certain organizations and Ordinance No. 745 now pro-
vides that Board members shall be selected without refernece to any specific organiza- I
tion, they should resign. The Manager recommended that, in view of the capability of
these members, the work they have done, and their wide knowledge of recreation prob-
lems in the City, these members should con tinue on the Board, whereupon, it was moved
by Commi ss ioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that Mr. Chauner, Mrs. E. Johnston,
and Mrs. J. Bradle y be reques ted to remain on the Recrea tj on Boa rd for the dura ti on
of their present terms and that they be considered as representatives of the City at
large and not as representatives of any particular organization, and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote; those votlng Aye be:i.ng Mayor Sorenson,
Commiss ioner Rea ly and Comrnis s ioner Lowe; those vo ting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, i t wa s
moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the meeting adjourn and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Sorenson, Commissioner Healy, and COInmiss ion er Lowe; those voting No, none.
