SUBJECT: Right of Way Acquisition Professional Services Agreement Addendum No. 2
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent
MEETING DATE: June 26, 2017
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Interim City Manager to execute Addendum No. 2 to
the original Professional Services Agreement with DOWL LLC, to provide Right-of-Way acquisition services on a term contract basis through May 1, 2018.
BACKGROUND: In an effort to proactively make road and intersection improvements to the
transportation network, public works and engineering entered into an agreement with DOWL
LLC in June of 2014 to acquire the right-of-way needed to complete those improvements. The acquisitions are made on a Task Order basis, each parcel being paid for as a separate, discrete effort. Fees for each acquisition are on a time and materials basis. Over the past two years
DOWL LLC has performed these duties very well on behalf of the city, acquiring 43 easements
and 1 parcel since 2014. This addendum will extend the term of the original agreement to May 1,
2018. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None.
FISCAL EFFECTS: Fees will be negotiated on a per task basis. Fees will be paid for with
Transportation Impact Fee Right-of-Way ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
