Message: Dear Mayor and City Commissioners, I urge you not to approve the Golden Gate
Condominium Project as it is currently planned. First, these are apartments not condominiums.
The builder has no intention of selling them as individual units. They will do nothing to increase
affordable ownership opportunities in Bozeman. The density of 70 2 bedroom units (more than
twice the R-4 minimum) is just too much for this neighborhood. The parking is not adequate and will spill over to Golden Gate Avenue. The streets throughout the subdivision being only 24' at
all intersections and crosswalks are not wide enough for this volume of traffic. The City's
updated traffic memo is erroneous in describing the width of the streets in the neighborhood.
There are no garages, carports, greenspace, or amenities of any kind provided for the residents of
the apartment project. It is simply does not fit the character of the neighborhood with which it is part of. The project should have never been approved by the Loyal Garden Design review board
in the first place. Unfortunately for the neighborhood, the board consisted of one member who is
also the seller of the lot for the project. Unethical to say the least. Wouldn't the City of Bozeman
be better served with 30 nice townhomes which could be purchased for $200,000. Please
consider these thoughts before rendering your decision. Respectfully Pete Rinaldi and Sheri Grammier.
