HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-13-16 Public Comment - S. Jackson - Kagy ReconstructionHi there,
I drive on Kagy to get to work every day during the week and to get around town on the weekend.
I support widening Kagy to 5 lanes to accommodate traffic.
This project acknowledges that Kagy is, in fact, an arterial street.
Is it acceptable for an arterial street to be closed down for football games?
How does this affect people needing to get to the hospital quickly, for example?
I suggest that we create a separate pedestrian access across Kagy, which would allow traffic to continue
on Kagy during football games.
Can we build a foot bridge or a tunnel under the street to allow for pedestrians, bands, golf carts, etc.?
This could be a very cool feature.
A ramped bridge could be designed to create a unique gateway to the stadium/museum area.
A tunnel under the road might be easier for pedestrians, bikers, etc. This could also be a fun design, with
tiled walls. A tunnel might be nicer in the winter.
Also, I think that bike paths should be separate from the road.
Despite the distracted driving laws in Bozeman, people are still not careful around bicycles. Having a
curb and grass between a car and a bicycle is a good idea – if there is the room for it.
Thank you for accepting my comments,
Stacy
