HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-24-17 Public Comment - T. Kujawa - TapRoom_______________________________________ From: Thomas Kujawa [tom.kujawa406@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, March 24, 2017 11:43 AM To: Carson Taylor Cc: Cyndy Andrus; Chris Mehl; I-Ho Pomeroy; Jeff Krauss Subject: Bozeman Taproom Application Mayor and Commission, Thanks you for the opportunity to provide Public Comment on the proposed the Bozeman Taproom Application to Modify an Approved Conditional Use Permit (15149) for On-Premise Consumption of Alcohol from Beer and Wine to All-Beverage, Application 16475 <http://weblink.bozeman.net/WebLink8/0/doc/119861/Electronic.aspx> I am torn as to whether this application is appropriate or not. One sticking point keeps coming to mind for me when thinking about this application. How will some of the most vulnerable students be affected? Most students will probably not be affected if this application is approved, but there are families in our community with substance abuse problems and there are potentially children that attend Hawthorn that come from such families. How is learning and a safe environment affected for these children when they can see others and potentially family members getting drunk out their classroom window, possibly waiting to pick up their kids? This establishment is not a restaurant, and there is one reason to go there, and that is to consume alcohol. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with this or any of these establishment, but I think the All- Beverage application is a bit too much of a jump, making this a full-service bar, considering the direct proximity and most notably, line-of-site to the school. I’m compelled to ask that you DENY the application. Thank you for your consideration. Tom Kujawa 2463 Blackfeet Ln Bozeman, MT 59715
