The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, September 3rd, 1947, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those
being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, C1 ty Manager
Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the mo- I
tion was carried by the following {Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe' those voting No, none.
Claims for the Month
Claims Nos. 1368 to 1618 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

City Manager Henderson stated that the claims above listed had been audited and
approved by Fred Quinnell, former City Manager, as the majority of the claims for this
month had been incurred during his term of office. He stated that the claims were found
to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman and recommended that warrants be I
drawn for their payment. After examination of the claims in detail by the City Commission,
it was moved by Commi~sioner Sorenson, seconded by Commies ioner Lowe the t the claims be
approved and warrants drawn for their pa yment and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, ComMlsnloner Sorenson and Commissioner
Lowe; those vo ting No, none.
Application for City License
The application of E. .J. Te rps tra , 123 South Seventh for a one-half year city license
to wholesale eggs was presented and read. The loca tion of the business being in the "B"
Residence District as shown on the applica t10n, the application was tabled pending inquiry
as to the type of busines~ that is to be conducted here.
Ordinance No. 743 -- Appropriation Ordinance
The Manager stated that the appropriation ordinance for the period ending June 30th,
1948, had been properly advertised; that no inquiries or protests had been made. He pre-
sen ted the aff1davi ts of publica tion of the Notice of Public Hearings and Ordinance No. 743,
en ti tled :
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONTES FOR EXPENDITURES DEEMED NECESSARY AND IN I
ACCOPDAlWE WITH BUDGTARY REQTTIREMENTS FOR MAINTENANCE, ETC., OF THE MUNICI-
PAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
JUNE 30, 1948 .
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded bV Commis s10ner Sorenson tha t the 0rdinance
be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, and Commissioner Lowe; those
voting No, none.

Fire Chief's Convention in Spokane
The Mana.o:er reported that a Fire Chief's convention would be held in Spokane, Washington
September 15th, 16 th, and 17th; tha t it had been CllS tomary to send the Chief to these conven-
tions. It was moved b;' Commie sioner Sorenson, seconded by CommiC'sioner Lowe tha tit being
in the public interest that Fire Chief McCrosson be authorized to attend this convention
I and that his expenses be paid from the Genera 1 Fund, and the motion was carried by the fol-
lowing Aye and No vote; thos e voting Aye be ing Ma yor Heal y, Commissioner Sorenson and Com-
missioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Comnnmica tion
A communication from Carl 'Ihompson, Bismark, }~orth Dakota to the Chief of Police was
read, thanking him for his co-operation and courteous treatment during his stay in Bozeman.
Reports
The following reports for the mon th of Augus t, 1947 were presented:

It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded b;r Commissioner Lowe tha t the reports
be accepted and ordered filed, ancJ the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;

voting No, none.
Street Lighting and Street Markers
The extension of the present street lighting system and the installation of street
marking signs were discussed, and the City Manager was instructed to prepare data including
I a proposed call for bids for street marking signs to be presented at the next commission
meeting.
