SUBJECT: Notice of Award for Class IV Landfill Closure
MEETING DATE: June 19, 2017
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Interim City Manager to sign the Notice of Award for
the Closure of the Class IV Landfill to Pink Hill, LLC.
BACKGROUND: This project consists of the construction of a final soil cover system to
overlie the 4.5 acre City of Bozeman Class IV Landfill unit. The unit has reached its final waste
elevation. Construction elements include a 5.5 foot thick final cover system comprised of a 5
foot thick native soil layer and a 0.5 foot thick native topsoil layer augmented with compost. The contract time for this project is 60 days.
Bids for this project were opened on May23, 2017 with 10 bids being submitted. The low bid
was submitted by Pink Hill LLC in the amount of $194,925.00. The city's design consultant for
this project, Great West Engineering, reviewed the bids and the qualifications of the low bidder and is recommending that award be made to Pink Hill LLC in the amount of $194,925.00.
FISCAL EFFECTS: This project will be paid for with Solid Waste Enterprise funds set aside
for this purpose.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.

NOTICE OF AWARD
TO: Pink Hill, LLC Dated: June 19, 2017
ADDRESS: 2995 Upper Road, Hardin, MT 59034
PROJECT: City of Bozeman Class IV Landfill Closure
You are notified that your Bid dated May 23, 2017 for the above Project has been considered. You
are the apparent Successful Bidder and have been awarded a Contract for: City of Bozeman Class IV
Landfill Closure. The Contract Price of your Contract is: One-hundred Ninety-four Thousand,
Nine-Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($194,925.00).
Five (5) copies of each of the proposed Contract Documents (except Drawings) accompany this Notice of
Award.
One (1) Set of the Drawings will be delivered separately or otherwise made available to you immediately.
You must comply with the following conditions precedent within fifteen (15) days of the date of
this Notice of Award, that is, by June 27:
1. You must deliver to the OWNER Five (5) fully executed counterparts of the Agreement including
all the Contract Documents and Drawings.
2. You must deliver with the executed Agreement the Contract Security (Bonds) as specified in the
Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Supplementary Conditions .
3. You must deliver with the executed Agreement the Certificates of Insurance as specified in the
General Conditions and Supplementary conditions.
Failure to comply with these conditions within the time specified will entitle OWNER to consider
your Bid abandoned, to annul this Notice of Award, and to declare your Bid Security forfeited.
Within ten (10) days after you comply with these conditions, OWNER will return to you one fully
signed counterpart of the Agreement with the Contract Documents attached.
