M. Present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. when the fbllowing prooeedings were had: Minutes of the last session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by I Commissioner Swanson, iDat the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No votel those voting kye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson. those voting No, none. Appointment - Mrs. Chas. Vandenhook, Jr. to Library Board Mayor Lowe announced the appointment of Mrs. Chas. Vandenhook, Jr. as a member of the Library Board to fill the unexpired term of Mrs. G. Y. Patten who is leaving the oity to be gone for two years. The term expires Deoember 31, 1965. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commis- sioner Swenson, that the appointment be approved IIld the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being :Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson) those voting No, none. Plat of Gordon :Manderville State Sohool Section Subdivision A copy of the plat of the Gordon Manderville State School Seotion subdivision. which the State Board of Land Commissioners has had prepared and filed in the office of the Clerk & Recorder of Gallatin Count.y, was examined. This is a plat of a tract of ground, approximately 60 acres in area, lying on each side of U. S. Highway No. 10, approximately one-half mile north of the City Limits. The area, as it has been platted, is divided into 28 lots or acreage tracts, varying in size from I approximately one-half acre to 4i acres. The land is situated within three miles of the City Limits of Bozeman and Montana Statutes require that lands platted within that area must be approved by the Direotor of Publio Servioe but, beoause the Stat. Land Board was not aware of that requirement, they had caused this plat to be made and filed wi thout such approval and they now request that such approval be given. After discussion at length of this matter, the City Engineer was requested to prepare a sketch to show how this area might need to be arranged if it were brought into the city arn the Manager was instructed to inform the State Land Board that approval of that plat is being deferred until further investigation can be made. Froposed Amendment of Fire Ordinance Reoent revision of the Zoning Ordinance which changes boundaries of business districts in particular brings about neoessity of revision of the Fire Ordinance of this city. The Manager was instruoted to take necessary steps to have an amending ordinanoe prepared which would bring the Fire Ordinanoe in conformity with recent changes in zoning. Proposed Platting West of City City Engineer Waldorf made a progress report on a proposed. master plan for development of the area extending approximately one-half mile west of the City. Work on this planning is being done in I cooperation with architects who are developing plEl1s for the new High School to be constructed at the west edge of the City. Authorizing City Official to Attend Legislative Sessions It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by CODllJlissioner Swanson, the. t attendance by the Mayor and City Commissioners, the City :Manager, and other officials of this oity, but not to exceed five in number at anyone time, at those sessions of the Koptana State Legislature in 1956 when, in the judge- ment of the Mayor or the City Manager, such attendance is neoessary in the interest of legislative 467 matters concerning this city, be and the Bame is hereby authorized and that expenses incurred by such attendance be paid from the General Fund, and the motion was carried by the following ~e and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swenson; those voting No. none. Adjournment I There being no further busineu to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by Commissioner Swanson. seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meeting adjourn end the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote& those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe.
