Wednesday afternoon, March 30, 1955 at 1;00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Lowel Commissioner Erwin. Commissioner Swanson, City Manager Henderson. City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the last session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Swanson. seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be approved as read. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Co~~issioner Swans on; those voting No, none. Proposal for Montana State College to Share in Cost of Trunk Sewer The City Manager reported on the conference with officials of Montana State College regarding their sharing; in the cost of the construction for an additional trunk sewer discussed at the last meetine;. He stated that as a result of this meeting. a proposal has been prepared for presentation to college officials, whereby beginning on September 1, 1955, an additional charge of $100.00 will be added to their monthly sewer charge for a period of ten years to cover an estimated share of their cost for this trunk sewer. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Swansonl that the City Manager be authorized to sign this proposal and present it to college officials, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin. Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Bids for Sewer Pipe The matter of the City of Bozeman purchasing the pipe for the construction of the proposed trunk I sewer was discussed. It was decided that it was advantageous for the city to purchase the pipe. and it was moved by Commissioner Swanson. seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to advertise for bids for the necessary pipe. as estimated by the City Engineer, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being; Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin. Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Single Aggregate Mix for Paving Explained Mr. Guy Sperry, of the Western Construction Equipment Company. was present and explained the "Single AgEregate Mix" process for raving. and urged the City to cons ider this type of paving on any fu ture paving and for maintenance work. Claim for State Gas Tax Re fund A claim for refund of the state gas tax in the amount of $808.BO against the State Board of Equalization was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson. seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the claim be signed and filed for payment. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Request for Oiling Mat on South Church I A communication from R. R. Renne was read. requesting a proposal whereby South Church Avenue from the railroad tracks at Story Street south to the City Limits could be improved with an oil mat. After discussion. it was decided to give the matter further consideration at a later date. Extension of Sewer & Water Lines for New Hig;h School Building Problems involving; the extension of a sewer line and a water line to serve the new high school buildinE were presented by the City Engineer and the City Manager. City Payment on M. F. S. Discontinued A co~~unicatior. from the State Examiner was read. stating their office cannot approve the :payment 486 by the City of Bozeman of $1.00 per month to Montana Physicians' Service for city employees covered by hospital and medical insurance. After consideration. it was moved by Commissioner Swanson. seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that this payment of $1.00 per month to M. 1-. S. by the City be dis- continued, but. in order to continue employees at thei r present salary, those who elect to be covered by the Montana Physicians' Service shall have thei r monthly pay increased by $1.00 per month and the full payment for this medical insurance be deducted from their pay. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner I Swanson; those voting; No, none. Purchase of Copper Pipe The need for approximately 2000 feet of copper pipe to cost between $700 and $800 for the Water Department was reported. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Swanson. that the City Manager be authorized to make this purchase, end the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No. none. Examination of Depository Bonds The City Commission proceeded to check the Custodian's Receipts for Depository Bonds covering bank deposits of the City of Bozeman. The securities being sufficient to cover all deposits in the various banks. it was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Swanson. that they be approved, and entered in tull in the minutes. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Ordinance No. 780 was presented and read. entitled: AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING A MUNICIFAL PLAN BOARD OF' THE CITY OF BOZEMAN .AND PRESCRIBING ITS DUTIES. POWERS AND f'ROCEDURES AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 649. Trunk & Son. Inc. was presented. The contirluation certiiieates were ancroved as to form by the City Attorney.
