May 11, 1955 at 1:00 o'olock P. M. Present were Mayor Lowe., Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, City Manager Henderson and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the last session were read. and it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was oarried by the follow- ing Aye end No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Conunissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Report on Condition of Wa ter FUnd The City Manager presented a oomparative statement of revenues and expenditures of the Water FUnd. covering a period of the last fifteen years. It was pointed out that while the revenues of the water fund have increased during this time, the expenditures have increased more than the revenues; and it will not be possible to pay for needed expansion of the water system from current revenues. Claims Claims Nos. 2276 to 2294 inolusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Cemetery . 25.53 Garbage 179.81 General 750.07 Library 12.26 Park 57.93 Parking Meter 1.89 SDS Revenue 14.80 Street 579.61 Water 39.70 I Total - - - - $1,661.69 '!he Manager stated that he has audited these claims .and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman, and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examina- tion of the claims in detail by the City Commission and cheoking against the Claim Register. it was moved by Commissioner Swanson. seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for their payment, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of April. 1966 were presented: Cashier Chief of Police Sanitar,y Inspector Cemeter,y Board It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seoonded by Commissioner Swanson, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Payment to Seavy for Sewer Connection .An agreement dated August 6, 1952 between the City of Bozeman and Ted Seavy provides that payment I be made to Ted Seavy for a share of the cost of the sewer Une when any sewer oonneotion is made to the sewer construoted by Seavy on Curtiss Street, as long as he is the record owner of Lots 1, 2. 3 & 4, Block 7, West Side Addition. It was reported that only one property has not made conneotion to this sewer line. and Seavy no longer owos Lots 1 and 2 of Blook 7, but this owner is willing to pay Seavy for his share of the cost of sewer. The Commission stated the Ci~ should colleot the cost from the owner when a connection is requested. and refund the amount to Ted Seavy. Commendation to Recreation Director White The Manager reported that, at the last meeting of the Board of Recreation, official reoord was made commending Reoreation Director White for the outstanding and suocessfUl recreation program 602 oarried on by his department. i......, I '. Resolution No. 788 -. Creating S. I. D. 382 .J The City Attorney as instructed has prepared a resolution creating Special Improvement District No. 382, paving on North Willson from Villard to Short Street. Resolution No. 788 was presented enti tled: A RESOLUTION OF' THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN CREATING A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ro BE KNOWN AS SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER 382 OF THE CI'lY OF BOZl!1lAN FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING INSTALLING A PAVEMENT PROJECT ON NORTH WILLSON AVm-WE FROM I VILLARD STREET TO SHORT STREET IN SAID CITY It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the resolution be passed and adopted and June 1, 1956 be set as the date for the opening of bids for the oonstruction, and the motion was carried by the following J::re and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Contract for Construotion of Tenth Avenue Sewer - Unit 2 The Contract of Haggerty-Messmer Company for the construction of the Tenth Avenue Trunk Sewer, Unit Two. was presented. The contract having been prepared by the City Attorney. it was mOlTed by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the contract be approved and the Mayor and the Clerk of the City Commission be authorized to sign the contract for the City of BOZEman, and the (,') motion was carried by the following Aye cd No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commiuioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, those voting No. none. Request for Banner for Jaycee Convention Approved A request from the Junior Chamber of Commerce to hang a banner across Main Street at Willson Avenue for their State Convention was presented. They stated that permission has been received from the owners of the buildings on which to hang the banner and that insurance is carried to cover any I, liabili ty. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seoonded by Commissioner Erwin, that the request be granted, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being :Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No. none.
