HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-11-10 44J Bozeman, Montana November 10, 1954 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, November 10, 1954 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovels. oe and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the last session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the follow. ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Proposed Milk Ordinance Dr. Carl Hammer and O. Walker of' the City-County Heel th Office and Dr. J. D. C. Wipf of' the Livestock Sanita~ Board were present to discuss adoption of a model Milk Ordinance for the City of Bozeman. Dr. Wipf pointed out the parts of the present milk ordinance which are out-dated beoause of advanoes and improvements now used in the care of milk and milk products. They asked that the model Milk Ordinance and Code approved by the U. S. Public Health Service be adopted by referenoe as the Milk Ordinance for the City of Bozeman. After disoussion, the proposed ordinance was referred to the City Manager and the City Attorney for study and to check the possibility of adopting the ordinanoe by reference. Lease of Polioe Cars A lease agreem~t between The City of Bozeman and the Northern Automobile Company for renting two cars for the Police Department was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by I Commissioner Swanson, that the Mayor and the Clerk of the City Conun.ission be authorized to sign the agreement for The City of Bozeman, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. City Manager to Study Operation in Other Cities The City Manager requested permission to go to Butte, Anaconda, Missoula and Helena to study and compare operation of oity affairs and equipment. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the City Manager be authori zed to make such a trip in a city-owned car and his expenses be paid from the General Fund and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Claims . Claims Nos. 962 to 981 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Fund Amoun t Geiieral $ 142.41 Library 12.25 Park .74 S.D.S. Revenue 33 . 90 Street 46.10 Water 2,445.61 Total ----- '2,681.01 The Manager stated that he has audited tilese claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims I against The City of Bozeman and recommends that Warrants be issued for their payment. After examination of the olaims in detail by the City Commission and comparison with the Claim Register, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seoonded by Commissioner Swanson, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for thai I' payment, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: th os e vo ting Aye being Mayor Lowe~ Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of October, 1954 were presented: Sanitary Inspeotor Cashier 442 It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin. Commissioner Swanson; those voting No. none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Swanson. that the meeting adjourn and the motion was I carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe.
