The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, December 8, 1954 at 1;00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Lowe,
Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, Ci~ Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the
Clerk, when the following proceedings were had;
Minutes of the last session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by I
Commissioner Swanson, that the minutes be apFroved as read, and the motion was carried by the follow-
ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson;
those voting No, none.
Claims for the Month
Claims Nos. 982 to 1207 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims I
against the City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examina-
tion of the claims in detail and checking against the claim register, it was moved by Commissioner
Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for their
payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Lowe, Comndssioner Erwin, Commissioner Swanson; those voting No, none.
Re1jorts
The following reports for the month of November, 1954 were presented;
Water Collector Chief of Police Cashier
Police Judge Sanitary Inspector Fire Chief
and the report of the Director of Finance for the month of October, 1954.
It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the reports be
accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: thos e vot inE

Fire Insurance on City Buildings
Schedule on the present coverage of fire insurance for city buildings were presented and dis-
cus sed. Coverage on the Operator's house and the barn at the Sewage Treatment Plant WaS recommended

to be changed to $6,000.00 on the house and $500.00 on the barn. All coverage under the city's "blanket
policy" having been revised as of July 1, 1954, the Manager was instructed to have renewal policies
written with no change in valuations except for the recommended coverage on the house and barn at the
Sewage Treatment Plant.
Request to Store Household Gas on North Seventh
A verbal request from Virgil Muir for a permit to locate a skid-mounted, 6,000 gallon tank for
temporary storage of propane gas on his premises at 443 No. Seventh Avenue was re~orted. The City
Man~ger recommended that the request be denied. It wes moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by
Commissioner Erwin, that the request not be granted, and the motion was carried by th.e following 451.

voting No, none.
Fire Truck Specifications - Inquiry of L. M. Curtiss & Sons
A letter from L. M. Curtiss & Sons, Oakland, California, regarding this oity's specifications
on an aerial ladder fire truck, was read in which it was recommended that an amendment to specifica-
I tions be published which would permit bids on either a three-section or a four-seotion ladder and on
either an "all bronze" pump or a pump with an iron or steel housing. After disoussion it was the
opinion of the Commission that points of this nature would not prohibit anyone from submitting a bid
and such deviations from the exact wording of the specifications could better be covered by an
explanatory letter accompanying a bid than by amending the specifications. rhe Manager was instructed
to so inform the inquirer in this instance.
Milk Ordinance No. 777
The City Attorney as instructed has prepared an ordinance adopting by reference the Milk
Ordinance and Code - 1953 Recommendations of the Public Health Service. Ordinance No. 777 was
presented, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TEE PRODUCTION, TRANSPORTATION, PROCESSING, HANDLING, SAMPLING,
EXAMINATION, GRADING, LABELING, AND SALE OF MILK AND MILK PRODUCTS: THE INSPECTION OF
DAIRY HERDS, DAIRIES, AND MILK FLANTS: THE ISSUING AND REVOCATION OF' FERMITS TO MILK
PRODUCERS, HAULERS, AND DISTRIBUTORS: F'IXING OF PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF' ITS
PROVISIONS, AND REFEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 595 AS .AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NlJ"MBER 639 OF'
THE CITY OF BOZEMAN.
It was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the Ordinance be
passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: thos e vo ting Aye

Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin,
Commissioner Swanson; those voting No. none.
