HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-07-14 3~~6 Bozeman, Montana July 14, 1954 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, July 14, 1964 at 1:00 o'olock P. M. Present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seoonded by I Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Afe being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Water Main Extension on East Main Street - Clyde Cox Mr. Clyde Cox, owner of part of Blocks 24 and 25 of the Northern Pacifio Addition, has made inquiry regarding the extension of the water main now being constructed on East Main Street to serve the property owned by him. After discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seoonded by Commis- sioner Healy, that the City Manager be authorized to have said water main extended to serve this property provided the oost of such extension is paid by the property owners, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy; those voting No, norie. Confirmation of Rex Duncan as a Member of the police Department A letter from Chief of Police Haas was read, stating that Rex Duncan has completed his six months probationary period as a polioeman and recommending that he be confirmed as a regular member of the Police Department. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that Rex Duncan be confirmed as a regular member of the Police Department, and the motion was carried by the I following Aye and No vote: those-voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. '" Platting of Thompson Addition Mr. E. R. Dodge was present and presented a proposed plat which he in his capacity as a Licensed Surveyor has prepared of an addition to the City of Bozeman, south of Blocks 21 and 22 of the Butte Add iti on, to be known as Thompson Addition. Some minor corrections were suggested for the platting. An opinion from the City Attorney was read stating the title to this property was a good and merchant- able title. The City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution of intention to extend the City Limits to include this addition. Reports The following reports for the month of June, 1954 were presented: Director of Finance Cemetery Board It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Claims I Claims Nos. 9978 to 9980 inclusive were presented as follows: Claim No. Fund Amount 9978 Fi re Relief $7,619.14 9979 S. I. D. #377 1,945.55 9980 S. D. S. Revenue 1,744.43 The Manager stated the claims have been audited and recommended that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the claims, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment, and the motion was oarried 3!-J7 by the following Aye and No votes those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner He81 y; those voting No, none. Budget for 1954-55 The City Manager submitted to the City Commission estimates of revenues and expenditures for the several departments for the coming fiscal year ending June 30th, 1955, which were discussed in detail. I Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. ~/~ /' Mayor Attest: ~~~ Clerk of the City Commission I I
