HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-07-28 4:00 Bozeman, Montana July 28. 1954 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 1954 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by I Commissioner Healy, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Erwin. Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Bids for S. 1. D. No. 379 City Engineer Waldorf was present and presented a tabulation of the bids received at the meeting of July 21st, 1954 for the construction of Special Improvement District No. 379. He stated it was his recommendation that the bia of the Standard Construction Company with a basic bid of $4,531.80 and Alternate No.2 for Travel Plant Mix in the amount of $2,327.60 be accepted as the best bid. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the bid of the Standard Construction Company wi th Alternate No. 2 (Travel Plant Mix) for the construotion of Special Improvement Distriot No. 379 be accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin. Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Peti tion for S. 1. D. - North Tracy from Short to Peach Street A petition of property owners on North Tracy Avenue from Short Street to Peach Street requesting that a special improvement district be created to pave this block was presented. City Engineer Waldorf reported the present street width between ourbs is twenty-eight feet and this is the same width I of the paving south of the proposed district. It was decided that the street should be paved this width, and it was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Healy. that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and estimated costs of the proposed district and the City Attorney be of intention instructed to prepare the resolutio~to create the district and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor L,owe. Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Gas Fitter's Bond -- Frank Brown The continuation certificate of the Gas Fitter1s Bond of Frank Brown in the amount of $2,000.00 was presented. The certifioate was approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Healy. that the bond be approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being M~or Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Request for Tag Day - Amvets A written request from Tom Gleason, State Commander of the Amvets, to have a "White Clover" tag day in Bozeman. Saturday, August 7, 1954 was read. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the request be granted for this date, and the motion was carried by the I following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. -- Bond of H. Dean Moore. Cashier The bond of H. Dean Moore as Water Collector and Cashier. in the amount of $15,000.00 was presented. The bond was approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the bond be approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. 4J)1 Bond of Helen Q. Morrison, Assistant Water Collector The bond of Helen o. Morrison, Clerk and Assistant Water Collector, in the amount of $10,000.00 was presented. The bond was approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the bond be approved and accepted, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, I Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
