HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-02-25 214 Bozeman, Montana February 25, 1953 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Comndssion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, February 25, 1953 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, City Manager Henderson and the Clerk when the following pro- ceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the minutes be approved as read. and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe. Commissioner Erwin; those voting No. none. Report The report of the Direotor of Finance for the month of January. 1953 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seoonded by Commissioner Erwin, that the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No Tote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe. Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none. Zoning -- Recommendations of Adjustment Board -- Business-Residence No. 1 The Manager reported that. at a meeting of the Board of Adjustment held February 20. 1953. the following recommendation was made for the consideration of the City Commission: That the part of Business-Residence District No.1 lying between Third Avenue and Eighth Avenue and the first alley north of Main Street and the first alley south of Main Street be rezoned to make ita part of the Main Business District, or That as an alternate. all of the present Business-Residence Distriot No.1 be rezoned to make it a part of the Main Business District. The matter was disoussed at length. including the advisability of rezoning that part of Business- Residenoe Distriot No. 2 fronting on No. Seventh Avenue to also make it part of the Main Business District. the partioular point in question being whether or not side yard spaoe should be oontinued as a requirement in these Business-Residence districts. It was decided that the matter should be given wide publici~ to get the reaction of oitizens and any further aotion be deferred pending further study. Franchise -- Coaxial Cable for TV Mr. Norman Penwell. of Radio Station KBMN. was present and requested a franchise to install a coaxial oable system throughout the city for the transmitting of Television. or a franchise to use the present poles of other utilities. He presented a proposed ordinanoe granting such a franchise for the examination and study of the City Commission. After discussion. the matter was referred to the City Attorney. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the meeting adjourn. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor.
