M. Present were Mayor Secor, Commissi oner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, City Manager Henderson, Ci ty Attorney Lovel ace and the Cle rk when the following proceedjngs were had: Minutes of the last rec;ule r session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe. that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the follow- in~ Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, COlrumissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none. Relort The report of the Director of Finance for the month of May, 1953 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, thAt the rer:ort be accepted and ordered filed and the motion WAS carried by the followine; Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe, r,ommissioner Erwin; those votine: No, none. The number of defi.~iency points determjne the fire cless dty and also determine the fire insurance rates and the purpose of the conference was to determjne how the City of BozemaD can eliminate a suffjcient number of deficiency points to raise it from a class six to a class five city and thus secure a reduction :in fire insurAnce rates. From facts established at this c0I1ference, it was brourr,ht out that, by addition of a modern aerial ladder combination truck to present fj re fightin({: equipment and numerous improvements which have been or can be made at nominal expense, it should be possible to raise the fjre classification of this city. This was considered as a long; range prol"ram which may take two years or more to accomplish. Air Drot: for Ground Observers Corp A request 1.;0 make an "Air Drop" of pamphlets over the oi ty, concerning the Ground Observers Corp was discussed. It was moved by CommissioDer Lowe, seconded by Cornmissi.oner Erwin, that, it bein.f in the public interest, and in the jnterest of civil defense, the request be aF1-iroved and the motion was carried by the followinG Aye and No vote: those voting Aye beint; Mayor Secor, Commiss:i oner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none. Application for Drj.veway -- 6 West Babcock An application of B. M. Crenshaw for a driveway at 6 West Babcock was presented and read, askinp: for a fifteen-foot driveway beg;inninc three feet west of the present steps at the Crenshaw Apartments. 'Phe Commission viewed the situation on the grounds, and cons idered the proposed additional driveway was unnecessary. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the appli.oation be denied, and the motion was carried by the followinr Aye and No vote: those voting Aye beinr:; Mayor Secor. Cormnissione'r Lowe, Commissioner Erwin; those votinp; No, none. ReFlacins of Chlorine Machine at Swimming Pool 'T'he chlodnating machine at the swimminr: pool hes reached a condition where it is beyond economical repair. This was an old, second-hano machine, purchased from the City of Three Forks, and installed at the swimming pool when the pool was built in 1938. It was moved by Commissioner Lawe, seconded by Commissjoner Erwin, that, there beiDI.'; an emergency I 1 I need for a new chlorinator, the City Manar,er be and is hereby authorized to secure such a machine from Wallace &: Tiernan Co., Inc., on a rental basis, for use in the Water Depflrtment and that a used chlorinator be purchased by the Park Department from the Water Department for use at the swimminp' pool. the approximate cost of the machine to be secured to be $1,5'15.00, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votinp; Aye being: Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe. Commissioner Erwin; those voting No. none. I Resolution No. '140 -- Assessment for S. T. D. 366 The resolution levying the assessment for Srecial Improvement District No. 366, sanitary sewer in the first alley east of North Seventh Avenue from Aspen Street to the City Limits in the amount of $8,394.63 was presented, entitled: A'RP,SOUJTION OF' 'rRR COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZ~MAN, MONTANA, LF.VYING AND ASS~SSING A SFF.CIAL ASSESSM1?,NT OF TAXES UPON ALL TH-: PROFERTY IN SFl<.:CIAL IMPRO\lF:MEJlJT DISTRICT NO. 366 IN THF. CITY OF BOZEMAN, COl!NTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA. TO D1i:F'RAY TI-n;; COST OF CONS'T'RUCTING AND MAKING TH": IMPROV1<;MENTS WITHIN SAID SlPECTAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 306. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the resolution be provisionally adopted, and July 1, 1953 be set as the date for hearing protests, and the motion WAS carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votinr, Aye beinf, Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe. Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none. Adjournment There being; no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meetinr; adjourn. and the motion was carried by the followin['; A,ye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe.
