The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
building, Wednesday after.noon, Aqgust 6, 1953 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had:
by Comndssioner Lowe, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the follow-
ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin; those
voting No, none.
Bids for S. I. D. IS 371 and 372
The Manager stated this was the time and place set for the opening of bids for the construotion of
Special Improvement District Nos. 371 and 372, paving on South Third and South Fifth Avenue from
Garfield to Lincoln Street. He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notice to Bidders.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, the. t the bids be opened and read, and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and }jo vote: those vot:ing Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner
Lowe, Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.

Bond of City M,~nager He~derson and Asslt Water Collector and Clerk, Helen Morrison
The bond of M. E. Henderson, City Manager, for one year from August 15, 1953, in the amount of
$2,000.00 and the bond of Helen Morrison, Clerk and Asslt Water Collector, for one year from August I,
1953, in the amount of $2,000.00 were presented. The bonds were approved as to form by the Ci~
Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the bonds be
approved end accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.
Purchase of Sewer Tile and Water Pipe for Langohrls 1st Addition
In order to facilitate the installation of sewer tile and water line to serve the property in
Langohrls First Addition, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the
tile wyes and approximately 500 feet of cast iron ~ater pipe to be sold at cost to the owners in

Ci ty Manager be authorized to purchase approximately 800 feet of 8" sewer tile and eight 8" X 4" sewer
Langohr's F'irst Addition, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.

The Manager stated that; he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claiIll8
against The City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination
of the claims in detail and checking them against the claim register. it was moved by Commissioner
Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe. that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment.

Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance
The City Manager presented a tentative budget on which, if alproved, the annual appropriation
ordinance and the tax levy for 1953 would be based. It being considered that additional time was needed
for furtiler study on these matters it was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Commissioner Erwin.
that this meeting be adjourned until 10:00 o'clock A. M. August 8. 1953, and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner
Erwin; those voting No, none.
