Bui Idinl':. Wednesday afternoon, December 17, 1952 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace ani the Clerk-

The Manal'er stated this was the ti me and rIa ce set for orenin{t bids for material to be used in
the construction of Special Improvement District No. 367. He presented the affidavit of [uhlicBtion
of the lI'otjee to Bidders, whereupon, it was moved bv Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commi.ssioner Erwjn,
that the bi.ds be opened end read, and the motion was carried by the followinv Aye and No vote: thos e

Fire InsunllJCe on City Buildings
A delegation representinE the Bozeman Insurance Association appeared before the Commi ssion to
discuss fire insurance on ~ty buildings. Present were Gardner C. We i te, Don Bennett, F~. L. Rei del,
Earl Dawes, H. D. Korslund, and R. ~;. MHtendorf. Mr. Waite, as spokesman for the (;'rour, ex~lAined
,. ~, ,
differences between so-called "Board" and "Non-Boerd" or "Deviatinp:" and "Non-Deviatinf"" fire
insurance companies and reviewed the advantaves of the City continuinr:. its fjre insurance on its
present status. He also explained the recommendation of the Bozeman Insurance Association under which
the fj re insurance of the Ci ty is divided into el even units and d ivi ded amon~. Bozeman insurance a[':ents

Claim for Garbage Refund
The claim of V. C. McGaneh for refund on E;arbage assessment because the property at the corner
of Mendenhall and Rouse was listed as e three family dwellin[': and has been used as a sinf)e family
clwellinV since December, 1948 was presented. It was the opinion of' the City Commission tlmt, sjnce
no claim had been filed in previous years, any adjustment made at this time could only be madp on the
assessment for the current year and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded bv Commissioner Erwin,

Closing City Offices December 26th and 27th
Tn line wi th the proclamation of Governor Bonner declarinr December 26 and 27, 1952 as legal holi-
days, it was decided that the city offices would be closed on these two days, and the opera.tinp; crews
could have these two days off if they wished but would not be paid if' they did not work. 1
