M. 1947) and Section 6 of Ordinance No. 524 for the organization of the City Commission in accordance with the results of the Regular Municipal Eleotion held November 6th. 1961. the City Commission met at 10:00 A. M.. January 7, 1952 in the Commission Room. City Hall Building for organization purposes. Present were Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Secor. Commissioner Healy. Commissioner- elect Erwin. City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. when the following proceedings were had: I The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. The following matters were brought before the Commission as unfinished business to be oonsidered before reorganization of the Commission. Additional Claims for December. 1951 Claims Nos. 2911 to 2961 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Cemetery . 50.42 Garbage 98.72 General 1.731. 90 Library 116.40 Park 326.76 Parking Meter 34.35 S. D. S. Revenue 234.42 W-H Tax 1.684.30 Water 756.19 Total $5.032.45 The :Manager stated that he has audited these 01 aims and finds them to be true and lawful claims I against the City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the cla ims in detail by the City Commission. it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor. that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Reforts The following reports for the month of December. 1951 were presented: Chief of Police Sanitary Inspector Librarian Recreation Director and the annual refort of the Chief of Police. It was moved by Commissioner Secor. seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Gas Tax Refund Claim The olaim to the State Board of Equalization for gas tax refund in the snount of $792.36 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor. that the olaim be signed and presented to the Board for payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: I those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor III d Commissioner Heal y; those voting No. none. Application for Beer & Liquor License The following applications for Beer Licenses were presented: , , , Retail: Club: Off-Premises: Baxter Hotel Eagles Lodge Ralph IS Arcade VFW Club Parkway Grooery Hotel Bozeman and the following applications for Liquor License: .. B5 Baxter Hotel Arcade Hotel Bozeman VFW CI ub Eagles Lodge It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. - Reorganization of City Commission I Unfinished business of the old Commission having been completed, reorganization of the new Commission was effected by retiring Mayor Lowe turning over his chair and the duties of his office to the new Mayor. Mayor Walter A. Secor. W. G. Lowe, having been re-elected as City Commissioner. and Howard Erwin, having been elected as City Commissioner to succeed J. Harry Healy, these gentlemen took over their respective seats as City Commissioners. After appropriate informal remarks by those present to thank him for his fine service over eight years as a member of this Commission, Mr. Healy retired from the meeting. There was a general discussion of plans of operations for the remainder of the fiscal year and of over-all plans for each city department. Plans as outlined met the general approval of the ~ommission and no suggestions were presented for changes in plans or policies. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.
