The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room. City Hall
Building. Wednesday afternoon, January 9, 1952. at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Secor.
Commissioner Erwin. Commissioner Lowe, Ci~ Manager Henderson and the Clerk when the following
proceedings were had:
Minutes of the meeting of the City Commission of January 7th. 1952 were read. and it was moved I
by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the minutes be approved as read. and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Seco~ Commissioner
Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Application for Beer License
The application of Walter Ericson for a city wholesale beer lioense was presented. It was moved
by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Lowe. that the application be approved and the license
issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Secor. Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Reports
The following reports were presented:
Engineer and Sewage Plant Operator for December, 1951
Sewage Plant Operator for the month of November. 1951
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe. Seconded by Commiss ioner Erwin. that the reports be accepted
and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Secor. Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Recommendation to Cut Skating Costs I
The Manager reported that skating costs for December. 1951 were considerable higher than December
a year ago end. in order to keep costs at a minimum and continue skating for as long a period as possible.
he recommended that all rinks be closed one day a week and also that all rinks be closed on stormy or
extremely cold days. This reoommendation met with the approval of the City Commission.
Employment of Masten as Fireman
The Manager stated that because of illness. John MoCrosson was unable to return to his duties as
Fire Chief as of January 1. 1952, and the time of his return is uncertain. In line with the plan of
employing an additional fireman for the department. he reported that he proposes to employ Charles E.
Masten as a fireman on a temporary basis pending reoeipt of infonnation as to whether or not Chief
MoCrosson will be able to resume his regular duties.
Ordinance NQ. 768 -- Traffic Ordinanoe
City Attorney Lovelace informed the Commission that he has completed the new traffic ordinance
as instructed. Much time and effort has been spent on this ordinance. It has been worked on in
detail by the City Attorney, the Chief of Polioe and Captain of Polioe. the City Manager. and has been
considered section by seotion at speoial meetings of the City Commission. He presented Ordinanoe No.
768 entitled: I

BOZEMAN. MONTANA. AND REPEALING ORDINANCES Nos. 672. 688, 689, 700. 701. 703, 708 and 731.
OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAlil. AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
It wes moved by Commissioner Lowe, seoonded by Mayor Seoor. that the ordinance be passed and
adopted and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Seoor. Comndssioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to oome before the Commission at this time. it was moved by

Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was
carried QY the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe
and Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.
