The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, February 6, 1952 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Secor,

Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had:
I Minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by
Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those
voting No, none.
Claims for the Month
Claims Nos. 2962 to 3178 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

The Manager stated he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against
the City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination of the
claims in detail qy the City Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner
I Lowe, that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe;
those voting No. none.
Reports
The following reports for the month of January, 1952 were presented:
Librarian Chief of Police Cemetery Board
Police Judge Recreation Director Sewage Plant Operator
and the report of the Director of Finance for the month of December, 1951.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the reports be accepted
and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being

Request for Driveways Denied
A sketch. furnished by B. M. Crenshaw, showing proposed driveways at the Crenshaw Apartments was
presen ted. The proposal would involve outting ten driveways across sidewalks on Babcock Street and
Tracy Avenue to permit ten or les8 cars to be parked on the limited ground adjacent to the Crenshaw
Apa rtmen te .

it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the proposal and request for
these driveways be denied, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Gas Fitter's Bond - Owenhouse Hardware
Renewal certificate for the gas fitter's bond of the Owenhouse Hardware Company in the amount of
$2,000.00 was presented. The certificate was a~proved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved
by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that it be approved and accepted, and the motion

Manager to Municipal League Meeting
It was announced that the Executive Committee of the Montana Municipal League will meet in Butte
February 16th and 17th, 1952. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that
the City Manager be authorized to attend the meeting and his expenses be paid from the General Fund, and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Cornrnis- 1
sioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
The Manager stated that the Executive Committee of the Montana Section of the A. W. W. A. and
the Montana Sewage Works Ass'n will meet in Bozeman February 9th, to make plans for their annual meeting.
Request to Block off Main Street -- Red Cross Auction
A request was presented to "block off" one block on Main Street on March ~st for a period of
about one hour for the purpose of auctioning off three steers which have been donated to the Red Cross
to start their annual fund raising campaign. After consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe,
seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that, subject to the approval of the State Highway Department, the
request be granted and necessary arrangements be made for the Police to direct traffic during that time
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Street Light -- Front & Short Street
A request for a street light at Front and Short Street was reported. The Manager retorted that he,
together with the Police and the Montana Fower Company, have investigated this location and, in his
opinion, the requested light should be installed. I
It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the City Manager be
authorized to instruct the Montana Power Company to install a light at this corner, and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and
Commissioner Lowe; thOSe voting No, none.
Adj ournmen t
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe and
Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.
