The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room. City Hall
Building. Wednesday afternoon. March 12. 1952 at 1:00 o'clock F. M. Present were Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Lowe. Commissioner Erwin, City Manager Henderson. City Attorney Lovelace. and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular sess ion were read, and it was moved by Commiss ioner Lowe. seconded 1
by Commissioner Erwin. that the minuteS be apFroved as read, and the motion was carried by the follow-
ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe;
those voting No, none.
Bids for Lighting at Library
'!'he Manager stated this was the time and place set for the opening of bids for wiring and lie;hting
fixtures for the basement rooms at the library. He presented the affidavit of publication of -the
Notice to Bidders, whereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that
the bids be opened and read. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Secor. Commissioner Erwin and Comrnissioner Lowe; those vo ting No. none.
The following bids were opened and read:

Bozerre.n Electric Company 1.260.00
Shane Electric Company 1,163.82
Tschache Brothers 1. 139 .00
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the bids be referred to
the Citlf Engineer for cheoking, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votet those
voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Taxi Stfmd at Baxter Hotel I
Mr. Fred Skoog. of the City Taxi Lines. was present to protest the discontinuance of the taxi
stand at Willson and Main Street. until a lonr;er test period for the stand has expired. He stated it
was his intenti.on to instAll ~ telephone or bell system between the stand and office and he would like
to give this installation a trial before the stand is discontinued. The matter was taken under advise-
ment.
Claim of Marshall-Wells Co.
Claim No. 3374 of Marshall-Wells Company in the amount of $155.88 was presented. The cl aim is
subject to a 2% cash discount. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Lowe. that
the claim be approved and a warrant drawn for its payment. and the motion was carried by the fo llowing
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Co~~issioner Lowe; those
voting No. none.
Increase in Sewer Connection Rates
Due to increased costs of material and labor. the following increased rate schedule for sanitary
sewer conneotions recommended by the City Ene;ineer were presented:

Main Street, South Willson & North Seventh $55.00 $60.00
All other streets 45.00 47.00
All alley connections 35.00 37.00
Pavement patches $15.00.
These fees are to cover cost of installing the sewer from the sewer main to the curb line on
streets or to the property line in alleys.
It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe. tre t tl'lEi inoreased rates be
approved and made effective March 12. 1952, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No

vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting
No, none.
Reforts
The followin~ reports for the month of February, 1952 were fresented:

folice Captalll Saunders to Attend FBI School
The City Manager reported that the application of Charles V. Saunders, Police Captain, has been
approved to attend the FBI Police Academy in Washington, D. C. for a three month term beginning
March 17, 1952. The Caf,tain I s attendance at this school having been previously considered and
tentatively approved by the City Commission and funds for the expense included in the current budget,
it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin that, it being in the public
interest. the attendance of Captain Charles V. Saunders at this FBI School be approved and his
expenses be paid from the General. FUnd, and the motion was carried by the followinl'; Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Cormnissioner Erwin and Cowmissioner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Conunissioner Erwin. that the meetine; adjourn and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votine; Aye being Mayor Secor. Commissioner Lowe
I and Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.
