Sidewal ks to Connect wi thWalks to Whittier School I
. A map which had been prepared by the City Enp;ineer to show existinp- sidewalks was examined. A
particular foint in question was the need for sidewalks on north side streets over which chUdren can
travel to and from thev~hi ttier School. There is little east and west sidewalk along streets north
of Lamme. It was the opinion of the City Commission that sidewalks will necessarily be ordered in on
all of these streets in the near future but it will not be feasible to get all of them built this year.
The City ManaR:er was instructed to notify property owners in this area that all these sidewalks will
probably be required to be ,buil t wi thin two or three years and as a first step on this program v'ialks
will be ordered buH t in 1952 along the south side of Feach Street and Durston Road and along the north
side of Villard Street.
