SUBJECT: Ratify City Manager’s Signature on Software License, Maintenance and
Support Agreement with Journal Technologies for JusticeWeb Software MEETING DATE: June 5, 2017

RECOMMENDATION: Ratify City Manager’s Signature
BACKGROUND: Marsy’s Law is effective July 1, 2017. Use of JusticeWeb, an add-on software for JusticeWare, will facilitate communication between the Bozeman City Attorney’s Office and victims. Ancillary benefits will include making discovery in criminal prosecutions
available to defendants and defense counsel.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None. FISCAL EFFECTS: JusticeWeb requires a $5,000 annual and ongoing license fee. This is in
addition to the annual JustWare license fees currently incurred. For installation, a $5,000 one-
time fee is required. The City will pay this fee in FY18.
