The Cormnission of' the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Corruniss ion Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, April 23, 1952 at 1:00 o'clock F. M. Present were Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Erwin, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelaoe, and the CIa rk
when the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last rer,ular session held April 16th and the special meeting of April 18, 1952 I
were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be
approved as read, and the motion was carr:! ed by the following; Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Application for Beer License
The applicati on of the 7-Up Bottling Company for a city wholesale beer license was presented. It
was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by COIT@issioner Lowe, the t the application be approved and
the license issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Claim - Marshall-Wells Company
Claim No. 3571 of the Marshall-Wells Company in the amount of $1,072.97 was presented. The claim
being subject to a 2% cash discount, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by COlnmissioner Lowe,
that the claim be approved and a warrant drawn for its payment, and the motif5n was CB. I'd ed by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, COlnmissioner Erwin and Commissioner
Lowe; those voting No, none.
Report - Chief of police - Farking Tickets
A report from the Police Department was read showin~ the number of traffio tickets issued in I
March and dispositions made of them.
Ex:t-:losive Reconnaissance School
The Manager announced an Explosive Recormaissance School to be held in Butte, April 28, 1952.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner E~in, that it being in the public interest
a member of the Folice Department and a member of the Fire Department be authorized to attend this
school and their expenses be paid from the General Fund, and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those votin~ Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Conunissioner Lowe; those
voting No, none.
Recommendations of Recreation Board
Several recommendations made by Recreation Director A. Glen White to the Recreation Board on
April 22, 1952 and aI-proved by the Board were presented to the Commission.
On a recommendation that the interior of the swimming pool be painted, it was moved by Commissioner
Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the City Manager be authorized to secure the necessary
material and labor to have this pei nting, of the swimming pool done before opening of the 1952 swimminp;
season and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votinp.; Aye being Mayor
Se cor , Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. I
The recommendation that Recreation Director White attend the Recreation Camp to be held in
Cha tcolet, Idaho, May 14th to 21st, 1952 was considered. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded
by Commissioner Lowe, that Recreation Director Wldte be authorized to attend the Recreation Camp and
his expenses in the estimated amount of $49.80 be pA id from the Park Fund, and the motion was carried
by the followin~", Aye and No vote: those votinr Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and
Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
The recommendation to re-seal the tennis courts was discussed. The City Manager pointed out that

the present bud~et for Park Recreation for the fiscal year would not permit such an e~enditure at
this time and no action was taken.
No Left Turns at Willson and Black Avenue at Main Street
On Main Street, at Black and Willson Avenues, left turns off from Main Street are prohibited
during certain hours of the day but l$ft turns are permitted during those hours by vehicles enterinr
I Main Street at those intersections. It was the opinion of' the Commission that, du ri nr, hour sand
at intersections where left turns are prohibited, all such Ie ft turns should be prohibited. The
Cj ty Manaf';er was instructed to take necessary action to prohibit all left turns at the above named
intersections during hours when signs are in place to show such prohibi tion.
Parallel Parking on Main Street
The advisability of changini'~ from angl e to parallel parkini~ on Main Street was discussed.

Corrunis s1 oner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meetinr: adjourn and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those votinp: Aye being Mayor Secor. Connissj oner Lowe
