The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 1952 at 1:00 o'olock F. M. Fresent were Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Lowe, Commissioner Irwin, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had.
I Minutes of the last regular session Were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Irwin, seconded
by Commissioner Lowe, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the follow-
ing Aye and No vote: those Toting Aye being Kayar Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe;
those voting No, none.
Reports
The following reports for the month of April, 1952 were presented:
Sewage Plant Operator Director of Finimoe
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seoonded by Commissioner Erwin, that the reports be accepted
and ordered filed and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Seoor, Comndssioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Delegates to Municipal League ~eeting
The annual meeting of the Montana Municipal League will be held in Butte, Montana, June 6th
and 7th, 1952. It was moved by Commiuioner Lowe. seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that it being in
the public interest, attendance at this meeting by the Kayor and City Commissioners, the City Manager,
City Attorney, City Engineer and Director of Finane. be and is hereby authorized and that their expense
incurred in suoh attendance be paid from the General Fund and the motion was oarried by the following
I Aye and No vote: those voting Awe being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Co~issioner Lowe; those
voting No, none.
Budget Discussed
A general discussion was held relative to the budget for the fiscal year 1962-1953 with a view
of establishing general polioies on major expenditures. including capital investments and salaries
and wages, but aotion was deferred to the next regular meeting.
Report
A. Glenn White, Recreation Direotor. reported on the Recreation Camp he attended in Chatcolet,
Idaho.
Red Cross Unable to Support Swimming Program
A oommunication from the Gallatin Chapter of the American Red Cross was read. in which it was
stated that, due to the inoreased demands and expense to the looal Red Crol. Chapter for their blood
bank program and obligations to the military activities, they are unable this year to give the $300.00
for assistance on the life saving program at the City swimming pool as they have done each year for a
number of years.
Beall Street S~er
,.1 The Manager reported that maps in the City Engineer's office show the sewer on Beall Street
between Third and Fifth Avenue to be eight feet deep. while aotual measurement of the sewer shows it to
be only six feet deep. A new house is being construoted at 409 West Beall Street, and it was agreed
that any additional oharge necessary to enable this property to be connected to said Sewer should be
paid by the City of Bozeman.
Driveway N. P. Freight Depot
Verbal application having been reoeiTed from R. H. Morrow, Agent for the N. F. ~ Co., to widen
the driveway on Main Street, at the N. P. freight depot approximately 45 feet, the meeting was
reoessed and the members of the Commission went to view this proposal on the ground. Af'ter suoh

inspeotion, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seoonded qy Commissioner Lowe, that this request be
granted with the understanding that the existing or old part of the driveway will be reoonstruoted
so that the north or inner half of the sidewalk will be restored to proper sidewalk grade and the
drainage defioienoy in its area will be properly oorreoted and that this work will be expected to
be done without undue delay, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.
Adjournment I
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by
Commissioner Lowe, seoonded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was
oarried by the following ~e and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Seoor. Commissioner Lowe and
Commissioner Erwin; those voting No, none.
