The Commission of the Ci~ of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, July 2, 1952 at 1100 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were hadl
I Minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commdssioner Lowe, seconded
by Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the follow-
ing Aye and No votel those voting ~e being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe;
those voting No, none.
Claims for the Month
Claims Nos. 4008 to 4250 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims
against the City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examination
of the claims in detail by theCi ty Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by
I Commissioner Erwin, that the claims be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Seoor, Commissioner Erwin
and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Reports
Police Captain Saunders reported on the FBI School he attended in Washington, D. C.
The following reports for the month of June, 1952 were presented;
Librarian Plumbing Inspector Building Inspector Chief of Police Sanitary Inspector
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the reports be accepted and
ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being
Mayor Secor, ConunissionerErwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Application for Carnival License
The application of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce for license for a carnival for six days beginning
July 21st, 1952 was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner
Lowe, that subjeot to payment of the required $600.00 fee, the application be approved and the license
issued. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
'I Closing Ida Avenue during Jaycee Carnival
The Manager reported the Jaycees have requested that Ida Avenue along Block 105 in the Northern
Pacific Addition, where the carnival grounds will be located. be temporarily closed for 6 days beginning
July 21. 1952. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the request
be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being
Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Agreement for Lease of Folice Car
An agreement for the leasing of a police car from Auto Sales Inc.. was presented. The agreement

being the same as former agreements, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner
Mayor and the
Lowe, that the/Clerk be authorized to sign the agreement for the City of Bozeman, and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin
and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Bids for Dump Truck
The Manager reported that a dump truck used in the Street Department should be replaced. and I
recommended the purchase of a two-ton dump truck. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by
Commissioner Erwin. that the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to advertise for bids for a dump
truck of not le8S than two-ton capacity and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Secor. Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No. none.
Quit Claim Deed to Blocks 1 & 12 in Cemetery
The Manager stated that in order for Gallatin County to pay for maintenance of "County Grounds.
in the oemetery. it was neoessary for the records of Gallatin County that they show ownership to said
grounds. A quit claim deed prepared qy the City Attorney quit claiming Blocks One (1) and Twelve (12)
in the New Section of Sunset Hills Cemetery to Gallatin County was presented.
It was moved by Commissioner Erwin. seconded by Commissioner Lowe. that the Mayor and the Clerk
be authorized to sign the deed for the City of Bozeman, and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Seoor. Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe;
those voting No. none.
Request for Sales Office Denied
The Manager reported that. in conneotion with the request of Auto Sales. Incorporated to erect a
sales office on the used car lot at the corner of Black end Babcock Streets, and which does not conform I
with fire regulations. he has been informed that fire insurance rates of adjoining buildings would be
increased, if the proposed building is erected.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe. seoonded by Commissioner Erwin. that the request of Auto Sales.
Incorporated presented on June 25th, 1952 be denied a.nd the motion was oarried by the following Aye
end No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Seoor. Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those
voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to oome before the Commission a.t this time. it was moved by
Commissioner Erwin, seoonded by Commissioner Lowe. that the meeting adjourn and the motion was oarried
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor. Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner
Erwin; those voting No. none.
