The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 1952 at 1:00 0' clock P. M. Present were Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Erwin, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had:
I Minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded
by Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was oarried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Seoor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those
voting No, none. .
Bids for Dump Truck
The Manager stated this was the time and place set for the opening of bids for a dump truck for
the Street Department. He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notioe to Bidders, whereupon,
it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seoonded by Commissioner Erwin, that the bids be opened and read,
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor,
Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
The following bids were thereupon opened and read:
Imperial Motors GMC $3,100.00
Main Motors Studebaker 3,379.00
Northern Auto Co. Chevrolet 3,024.00
Owenhouse Hardware Co. International 3,230.00
Rolfe &: Wood Dodge 3,698.38
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the bids be tabulated
for comparison and study, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
I Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Letter of Appreciation
A communication from the Optimist Club was read thanking city officials for their assistance
and co-operation during the Soap Box Derby.
Fublic Hearing - Appropriation Ordinance
The Manager stated this was the time and place set for public hearing on the Appropriation
Ordinance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1953. He presented the affidavit of publication of the
notioe of public hearing, and stated that no protests have been filed and no one is present to protest.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the Appropriation Ordinance be
published as provided by law, and August 13, 1953 be set as the date for final adoption, and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin
and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Fhone for Observation Post
The Manager reported that the Air Foroe has made request for the City to have a 'phone installed
at an observation post to be located in the Ci~ and that the monthly charge be paid by the city until
such time as the paper work can be oleared by the Federal Government for the approval of this 'phone
I ins tall at ion.
It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the City Manager be
authorized to have a 'phone installed for an observation post in the City as requested, and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Erwin
and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Traffio & Traffic Lights
Traffic problems including a truck by-pass and installation of new and additional traffic lights
was discussed by the Commission.

Removal of Trees at Hylite Motors
The request of the Hylite Motors to have the trees removed in front of their property on North
Seventh Avenue was considered.
After viewing the situation on the ground, the Commission approved removal of these trees sub-
ject to the concurrence of the State Highway Department.
Adjournment I
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Secor, Commissioner Lowe and
Commissioner Erwin, those voting No, none.
