The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, August 29th, 1951, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Present
were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor, Commissioner Healy, City Manager Henderson, City At-
torney Lovelace and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy
seconded by Commissioner Secor that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was

carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner
Secor and Commissioner Healy;those voting No, none.
Application for Transfer of Beer ~icense
An application for a transfer of the city beer license of Ralph K. Williams for 124
West Main street to Archie J. Kelley and Ethel M. Barnard was presented and read. It was
moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor that the application for
transfer be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those
voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none.
Application for Beer License
The application of Joe Buckmaster for a retail beer license at 903 West College for
off-premises consumption was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Secor,
seconded by Commissioner Healy that the application be approved and the license issued
when the ordinance permitting sale of beer in this Business-Residence District is effective
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those vot ing Aye being Mayor
Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy;those voting No, none.
Claim
Lovell Clay Products Company

Claim No. 1914 of the Lovell Clay Products Company on the SDSRevenue Fund in the
amount of $695.46 was presented and read. The Manager stated the claim was subject to a
2% cash discount. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor that
the claim be approved and a warrant drawn for its payment and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote; those vo ting Aye baing Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Com-
missioner Secor; those voting No, none.
Show for Children after Hallowe81
Chief of Police Haas explained a proposal to solicit the co-operation of school children
to prevent vandalism at Hallowe'en. The children would sign a pledge at the police station
to help keep down vandalism, and the night after Hallowe'en they would be given a free ticket
to a special show for them. This project to be carried on in co-operation with the service
clubs and the theatre owner in the City. The Commission expressed approval of the Police
Department co-operating on this project.
Perking Stalls for Taxi Company
Mr. Fred Skoog, owner of the City Taxi Service, appeared before the Commission and
stated he planned to move his taxi stand to the bus depot, and would like one parking
stall in front of the depot, one stall north of the bus driveway on Tracy Avenue, and
keep one parking stall at the corner of Tracy and Main Street. After discussion, Mr.
Skoog was asked to submit his request in writing, and also submit a sketch of the pro-
posed parking stalls he would like reserved.

Resolution No. 712 -- Declaring Bozeman a City of the First Class
The Manager stated the City Attorney as instructed has prepared the resolution
declaring the City of Bozeman to be a city of the first class. He presented Resolution
No. 712, entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA,
DECLARING THE SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN TO BE A CITY OF THE FIRST
CLASS
It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor that the reso-
lution be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy;
those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the meeting adjourn
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;those voting Aye being
Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none.
