October 10. 1951 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Hearing - W & C 1951 Assessment - Resolution No. 717 The Manager stated that this was the tla. and place set for the public hearing on the assessment for Walks and Curbs for 1961. He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notioe~ and stated that no protests had been filed and no one is present to protest. ~e presented Resolution No. 717. ent itl ed: A USOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CIn OF BOZEMAN LlVYING AND ASSESSING 1 SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BOZEKlN~ COUNTY OF GALLATIN. STATE OF MONTANA. TO DEFRAY THE COST OF CONSnuCTING AND INSTALLING AND/01lREPAIRING MISCELLANEOUS SIDElfALKS AND CURBS DURING THE YEAR 1951. It was moved by CODmissioner Seoor~ seconded by Commissioner Healy~ that the resolution be finally passed and adopted~ and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Kayar Lawe~ Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. State Highway request for reclassification of College. 11th to 16th City Manager Henderson presented a letter from the State Highway Department requesting that the I City of Bozeman make formal applioation for reclassification of College Street between 11th Avenue and 16th Avenue from the status of primary system to urban system. He reported on disoussions held in Helena with o~~icials of the State Highway Department in regard to this reolassification. and stated that, at present. there is no apparent benefit to be derived from such a change. that there might be possibility that some present benefits could be lost, and some additional obligations incurred. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commissioner Secor~that the City Manager be instructed to inform the State Highway Department that action on their request has been deferred until additional infonaation on the proposal is available and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote. those -voting .Aye being Mayor Lo'W8~ Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those Toting No~ none. Reports The annual audit report of Gallatin Field Board and the September reports of the Chi.f of Police~ Librarian. Sanitary Inspeotor and the Clerk of the Cemetery Board were presented.. It was moved by Commissioner Secor. seconded by Commissioner Healy. that the reports be acoepted and ordered filed and "the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being I Mayor Lowe~ Commhsio:cer Seoor and Commi8sionerHealy; those voting No. none. Enlarging Building South Side Reservoir. and Construotion fower Line North Side Reservoir The Manager reported that~ in connection with installation of fluoridating equipment, it will be necessary to enlarge the treating equipment building at the South Side Reservoir and to build a power transmission line to the North Side teservoir. The cost of the building addition is estimated at less than $1.000.00. There will be approximately one half mile of power line to build. The Montana Power Company will build the first l~OOO feet of this line at their expense and will oharge 20 cents per foot for that part ot the line in excess of the 1.000 feet. It was moved by Commissioner Healy~ seconded by Commissioner Seoor~ that the Ci~ Manager be and is hereby authorized to have the Montana 7:~ 74 Power Company build the required power line and to have the neoessary addition built on the building at the South Side reservoir and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Seoor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Claim Claim No. 2292 of the Lovell Clay Produots Co. in the amount of $3,713.94 on the SDS "Revenue FUnd was presented. The Manager stated that this olaim is a true and lawful olaim against the City of Bozeman, it is subject to a 2% oash disoount if paid within 10 days, and recommended that a warrant be drawn for its payment. After eX8Dlination. it was moved by Commissioner Seoor, seconded by Commissioner Healy. that the claim be approved and a warrant drawn for its payment. and the motion was carried by the following .Aye and No vote; those voting ~e being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none. Easement for West Trunk Sewer - Myron M. & Aura D. Westlake A right of way and easement agreement between Myron and Aura Westlake and the City of Bozeman was presented. This covers right of way aoross Westlake's property for the West Side Sanitary Trunk Sewer. The agreement was approved as to form. by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commissioner Secor. that the Kayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to 8i~n the easement for the City, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those votmg Aye being l4ayor Lowe, COlllllliuioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none. Release of Bond -Frank Morrow The request of the National Surety Co. of New York for the release of the master plumbing bond of Frank Morrow of' Manhattan, Montane. was presented. The City Manager explained that Mr. Morrow had engaged in the business of plumbing contracting in Bozeman prior to 1961 but he now works as a journeyman plumber under a bonded master plumber so that the bond referred to herein is no longer required. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Seoor, that this bond be released as requested, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting qe being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner SecorJ those voting No, none. Adjournment There being no further baainess to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the followillg Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy and Commissioner Secor; those voting No, none.
