HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-10-17 Bozeman, Montana October 17, 1951 The Commission of the City of BOleJI8.II. met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, October 17, 1951 at 1:00 o'clook P. M. Present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy. City Manager Henderson, City Attorney Lovelace, and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded byComm.issioner Lowe, that the minutes be approved as read end the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those Toting Ay-e being Kayar Lowe andCommiuioner Healy; those voting No. none. Street Conditions on East Harrison Don Bennett and Keith Gastineau. representing Townhouse. Inc. were present to report washing out of the embankment at the dead end of East Harrison Street adjoining the Townhouse property. They were infor.med the street would be checked by the City Manager and the City Engineer and emergency repai rs made. Pavement on South Traoy Adjoining Townhouse Approved The Manager stated that the City Engineer reports the paving on Tracy Avenue and Harrison Street adjacent to the Townhouse, Inc. property is now completed to meet his approval and all requirements of the City of Bozeman. He recommended the paving be aocepted. It was moved byCommiuioner Healy, seconded br Kayor Lowe, that Haggerty-Keasmer Company be released from further liability under the bond and agreement furnished for the proper construction and paving of these streets adjoining the Townhouse. Ino. property and the motion wu carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting I ~e being Mayor Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Townhouse. Inc. Improvements Approved It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seoonded by Mayor Lowe. that a letter be given to Townhouse, Inc. stating that all street improvements done by Townhouse, Inc. adjaoent to their proper~ in Bozeman are approved and acceptable, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those Toting No, none. Agreement for Platting of Park Area - Durston Realty. Inc. An agreement between the Durston Real~. Ino. and the City of Bozeman relative to dedication of park and playground area in all land now owned by the Durston Realty Company north of DurstonRoad and Wes t of North Seventh Avenue wi thin the city lim.! ts ot Bozeman was presented. The agreement was approved as to fo~ by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Mayor Lowe, that the agreement be approved and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to sign the agreement for the City of Bozeman, and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Kayor Lowe 81d Co:mm1ssioner Heal Yi those voting No, none. Repo rts The following reports were presented; I Building Inspector Plumbing & Gas Inspector It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seoonded by Kayor Lowe, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No Tote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Baxter Hotel Farking Lot Lights The Manager reported that the Baxter Hotel Company proposes to f snoe and light their parking lot at the rear of the Baxter Hotel and the Montana Power Company has proposed that the City of Bozeman pay the monthly oharge for these lights, and the City collect this 8.JIlOunt from the hotel company. 75 At.ter discussion, the City Commission felt the providing of this additional lighted parking lot would be of publio benefit, and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Mayor Lowe, that, subject to the approval of suoh an arrangement by the Baxter Hotel Company, the proposal be approved. and the motion was carried by the following Aye end No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. District Meeting of Municipal League The Manager reported that a meeting of Distriot No. 6 of the Montana Munioipal League will be held in Bozeman, Priday, November 2, 1951. Adjournment There being no further busines$ to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Mayor Lowe, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Kayor Lowe and CommluioXler HealYJ those voting No. none.
