HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-10-31 Bozeman, Montana Ootober 31, 1951 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday a~ternoon, October 31, 1951 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Healy, Commissioner Seoor, City Manager Henderson. City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the last regular session were read. and it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seoonded by Mayor Lowe, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion 11'&8 carried by the following Aye fll d No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commiuioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports were presented: For October, 1951 -- Water Collector and Police Judge For September, 1961 -. Director of Finance It W8S moved by Commissioner Seoor, seconded ~ Commissioner Healy. that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the mtion was carried by the following Aye and No .vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe. ComDd.sioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. Folice Chief to Peace Officer's School The Manager reported that a Peaoe Officer's School, sponsored by the F. B. -I., will be held in Missoula, November 1, 2, and 3, and Chief of Police Haas has requested permission to attend this school. It was moved by Commdlsioner Healy, aeconded by Commissioner Secor, that it being in the public interest Chief of Police Haas attend the Peace Officer's School and his expenses be paid I from the General Fund, and the motion 11'88 carried by the following qe and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe,Commiuioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Bids for Dump Truck The Manager stated this was the time and place set ~or the opening of bids for a dump truck for the Street Department. He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notice to bidders. It was moTed by Commissioner Seoor, seoonded by Commissioner Healy, that the bids be ofened and read, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those TotiJ:l{!; Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. It was mOTed by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that action on the bids be deferred pending tabulation and further study and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting "e being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. none. I Application for City License The application of the Mt. States Photo Company of Missoula, Montana for a one-half year city license was presented and read. Question has been raised by local photographers on penaitting travel- ing or transient photographers to operate in Bozeman. After considering the investigation made in this case and on advice from the City Attorney that any grounds on which refusal to grant such a license could be based would be doubtful if tried in any oourt, it was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Seoor, that the application be approved and the license issued and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner 7~) 80 Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Easement for West Trunk Sewer - Durston Realty, Inc. The eUEmlent and Right-ot-Way Agreement between the Dunton Real ty, Inc. and the City ot Bozeman for the installation of the west sanitary trunk sewer across their property was presented. The agreement was approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved ~ Commissioner Secor, seconded by Commissioner Healy, that the agreement be approved and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to sign the agreement tor the City of Bozeman, and the motion was carried by the fol10w- ing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Co~ssioner Healy; those voting No, none. Bond - A. W. Coleman The bond of Archie W. Coleman, in the amount of $1,000.00, as Plumbing and Gas Inspector and Assistant Building Inspector was presented. The bond was approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Healy, seconded by Commissioner Secor, that the bond be approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those Toting Aye being Mayor Lowe, Commissioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No, none. Manager Authorized to Vote Stock in Middle Creek Water Users' Association Notioe of a meeting of the stockholders of the Middle Creek Water Users'Association, to be held in Bozeman on October 31. 1951. was read. It was moved by Commissioner Healy. seconded by Commi.sioner Secor, that the City Manager be and is hereby authorized to attend and is hereby designated as the official representative of the City of Bozeman with full authority to vote its stock in this aS8ocia- tion at this meeting. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Kayor Lowe. Comndssioner Secor and Commissioner Healy; those voting No. .none.
