There has been a history of misinformation given out by city staff as to whether a CUP should be obtained or a business license should be gotten. We have been told that a CUP is too onerous, we do not have the resources or manpower for appIication or enforcement so do not apply for it. We have business licenses that were set to expire and told to wait to re-apply because regulations would change. And so we and our property manager did what we could and complied with state law. That may be a point a litigation. I strongly believe that in order to be equitable the city must grandfather in people who complied with state law and continually paid state bed tax and had health and safety checks . Then if numbers of STR’s are an issue, put a cap on new STR’s. Also I thought that the April 24 staff report was equitable. It gave every zone a procedure by which to comply with city regulations. The next version is not equitable. I urge you to go back to April 24 regulations proposed.
