Quinn - Short Term RentalsFrom:Deirdre Quinn To:Agenda Subject:STR Opinion Date:Sunday, May 21, 2017 7:59:05 PM Hello, I am not seeing the current STR situation as a negative. STR owners take impeccable care oftheir homes because they need a great look to be chosen to be rented. They create a more taxable income which helps pay taxes for schools and keep money local. Vacationers spendtheir out of area dollars in our city/county via food, shopping, gas etc. and they also bring a heightened cultural element. This proposal does not include the concern of the number of STR's being created. It will not have a positive effect if they are denied, especially the ones that have been honest andcompliant and who have paid taxes and created local jobs through their hiring of management, cleaning and contractors. Current STR's being banned will create a potential legal issue for the city being as STR owners were encouraged to NOT get a Conditional Use Permit for the last twenty years. The STR owners that have been and are in compliance are making our neighborhoods a healthier, more maintained and vibrant environment and if nothing else, should begrandfathered in. It is unfair to them after they have followed all of the rules to be uber responsible and very aware of the delicate impact they are having in Bozeman, also where arepeople going to stay? With over 4 million visitors in YNP annually, we will be losing so much on so many fiscal levels if they don't have lodging to accommodate their variety of needs. People want to stay downtown where they can walk and enjoy our beautiful Bozeman. The Element and the Lark are already full on most weekends and having STR's locally, actuallykeeps business downtown for them as well. It's really a win, win for everyone! Thank you so much for your time and careful consideration of this matter. Most Sincerely,Deirdre Quinn -- Deirdre P. QuinnIndulgence Beauty Bar 121 E.
