January 6, 1958
The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in reguler session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Monday, January 6, 1958 at 10100 o'clock A.M. Present were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner
Erwin, Commissioner Berg. City Manager Henderson and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session of January 2, 1958 were read and it was moved by
I Commissioner Berg. seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the minutes be approved as read and the
motion was carried by the following ~e and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson,
Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
Claims
Claims Nos. 359 to 395 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

The Manager stated he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against
the City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be issued for their payment. After examination of
the claims in detail and checking against the Claim Register, it was moved by Commissioner Erwin,
I seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the claims be approved and warrants issued for their payment and
the motion was carried by the following Awe and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson,
Commissioner E~in and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none.
Reports
The following reports for the month of December, 1957 were presentedl
Police Judge Sewage Plant Operator
It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the reports be accepted
and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.
Applications for Beer & Liquor Licenses
The following applications for Beer and Liquor Licenses were presented:

It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the applications be
approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the followine; Aye and No vote: those
I voting Aye being Mayor Swanson. Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, nane.
Cancelling Bond of Montana Air Conditioning
A communication was read from the Montane Air Conditioning stating that they have discontinued
business as a gas fitter and requesting that their gas fitter's bond be cancelled as of November 23.
1957. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Erwin. that the Gas Fitter's Bond
of the Montana Air Conditioning be cancelled from and after November 23, 1957. and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Co~~issioner Erwin
and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none.

Reorganization of City Commission
This was the time and place set by Montana Statute for reorganization of the City Commission
as per the results of the regular munioipal elections held in 1955 and 1957. Arnold M. Swanson
took his seat as City Commissioner, and Howard Erwin took his seat as Mayor.
Mayor Erwin listed the following projects which he is particularly desirous of seeing completed
during his term of office: I
Opening of' alley in Block C. Original Townsite
Ground work for a new City Hall
Opening of' Eleventh Avenue from Curtiss Street to Main Street
Building road to Mystic Lake
Extension of Garfield Street to Sour Dough Road.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Swanson. seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the meeting adjourn. and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson
and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none.
