January 8, 1958 at 1100 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson. Commissioner Berg. City Manager Henderson. City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the last regular session of January 6, 1958 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those v oting Aye being Mayor Erwin. Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none. Bids for Water Meters This was the time and pla ce set for opening bids on water meters. Affidavit of publication of Notice to bidders was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Berg. seconded by Commissioner Swanson. that the bids be opened and read and the motion was carried by the following ~e and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson. seoonded by Commissioner Berg, that the bids be referred to the City Manager and the Water Superintendent for detailed checks and recommenda.tion, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Abandoning of Parking Maintenance District No. 301 A communication from Martin Whalen, Superintendent of the Physical Plant for Montana State College, was read, stating that Montana State College desired to have Parking Maintenance District No. 301 abandoned. The college owns 80% of the proper~ included in this district. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a resolution of intention to abandon this district and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin. Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Re}orts The following reports for the month of December, 19fi7 were presented: Sanitary Inspector Librarian Cemetery Board I It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the reports be accepted end ordered filed. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none. Highway Safety Conference A Highway Safety Conference will be held in Helena. January 14th, 19fi8. It wes moved by Commissioner Swanson, seoonded by Commissioner Berg, that Police Captain C. V. Saunders be authorized to attend this meeting and his expenses be paid from the General Fund and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote I those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin. Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none. ~l76 Claim -- Utility Builders Claim No. 396 of the Util ity Builders for their estimate No. 3 on construction of Special Improvement District No. 392. in the amount of $14,191.12, was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Berg. seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the claim be approved end a warrant issued for its payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votel those voting Aye and Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. I Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none. ~ i;.
