M. Present were Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson. Commissioner Berg, City Manager Henderson, Ci~ Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the last regular session of February 19, 1958 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 884 - Intention to Create S. I. D. 401 The City Attorney, as instructed, had prepared a resolution of intention to create Special Improvement District No. 401, paving of Arthur Street from Willson to Grand Avenue. Resolution No. 884 was presented, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMM:ISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZ:EMAN DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN TO CREATE A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN .AS SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 401 OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING A PAVEMENT PROJECT ON WEST ARTHUR STREET FROM SOUTH WILLSON TO SOUTH GRAND AVENUE, SAID PROJECT TO INCLUDE THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF COMBINATION CURBS AND GUTTERS, GRAVEL BASE COURSE, CRUSHED GRAVEL CUSHION COURSE, BITUMINOUS SURFACE COURSE, AND OTHER WORK INCIDENTAL THERETO. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the resolution be passed and adopted, and March 19, 1958 be set as the date for the hearing of protests. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. D. 402 The City Attorney, as instructed, had prepared the resolution of intention to create Special Improvement District No. 402, paving of Arthur Street from Grand to Third Avenue. Resolution No. 885 was presented, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF' BOZEM.A:N DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF' THE CITY OF BOZEMAN TO CREATE A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS SFECIAL IMPROVE- MENT DISTRICT NO. 402 OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN FOR THE PURPOSE OF' CONSTRUCTING AND INSTAUING A PAVEMENT PROJECT ON WEST ARTHUR STREET FROM SOUTH GRAND AVENUE TO SOUTH THIRD AVENUE. SAID PROJECT TO INCLUDE THE INSTALLATION OF ADDITIONAL STORM SEWER INLETS, CONCRETE CURBS AND GUTTERS. GRAVEL BASE COURSE, CRUSHED GRAVEL CUSHION COUFSE AND BITUMINOUS SURFACE COURSE, AND OTHER WORK INC IDENTAL THERETO. Resolution No. 886 - Intention to Create S. I. D. No. 403 The City Attorney. as instructed, had prepared a resolution of intention to create Special Improvement District No. 403, paving of South Bozeman from Koch to ~tory Street. and East Koch from Bozeman to Lindley Place. Resolution No. 886 was presented, entitled: I A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF' THE CITY OF' BOZEMAN TO CREATE A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 403 OF THE CITY OF' BOZEMAN FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING A PAVEMENT PROJECT ON SOUTH BOZEMAN AVENUE FROM EAST KOCH STREET TO EAST STORY STREET AND ON EAST KOCH STREET FROM SOUTH BOZEMAN AVEl\JUE TO LINDLEY FLACE. SAID PROJECT TO INCLUDE THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF COMBINATION CURBS AND GUTTERS, GRAVEL BASE COURSE. CRUSHED GRAVEL CUSHION COURSE. BITUMINOUS SURFACE COURSE, .AND OTHER WORK INCIDENTAL THERETO. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the resolution be passed and adopted, and March 19, 1958 be set as the date for the hearing of protests, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. ;,192 Water Improvement Project - Change Orders Nos 4 through 7; 9 through 12 John Morrison, President. and Don Whiteaker, Project Engineer. of Morrison-Maierle, Ino . , consulting and supervising engineers on the Water System Improvement projeot, were present to review and explain the reasons for the ohange orders as presented at the last meeting of the Commission. All of these ohange orders oonoern Phase I, Sohedule II (Distribution System) of the Water Improvement Project, and are for the following amounts. Change Order #4 - $ 41.97 Change Order No. 9 - $1,853.01 I Change Order #S - 145.25 Change Order No. 10 - 1,772.00 Change Order #6 - 500.00 Change Order No. 11 - 632.07 Change Order #7 - 44.48 Change Order No. 12 - 160.00 It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson. that the change orders Nos. four through seven and nine through twelve. as submitted and approved by the Consulting and Supervising Engineers, be approved. and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to sign these ohange orders for the City of Bozeman, and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin. Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Amendment to Ordinance No. 601 - Milwaukee Railroad Franchise A oommunication from the Milwaukee Railroad was read requesting that Ordinance No. 601 be amended to include rights-of-way aorosS public property for the tracks whioh were moved to repla ce the North Rouse Avenue installation. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seoonded by Commissioner Berg, that the request be referred to the City Engineer and, if descriptions are correct, that the City Attorney prepare the necessary amendment to Ordinance No. 601. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. City License for Exhibit I A request for a city license for en exhibit or tent show to be set up on North Tracy Avenue during the week of the Winter Fair was reported. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the request be taken up with the Manager of the Winter Fair and, that if there is no objec- tion from this organization, a lioense be issued to show at this looation and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Stop Light for Eighth a.nd Main Street A communication from Joe Hansford was read. suggesting that a stop light be installed at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Main Street. It was decided to get recommendations from traffic control companies and the Montana State Highway regarding the installation of traffic control signals at this location. Report The City Manager reported on the meeting of the NOrthwest City Managers' Association he attended in Pendleton. Oregon.
