HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-06-18 .11:3 Bozeman, Montana June 18. 1958 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building. Wednesday, June 18th. 1958 at 1:00 o'clock F. M. Present were Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson, Commissioner Berg, City Manager Henderson. City Attorney Lovelace and the Clerk. The follow- ing proceedings were had: I Minutes of the last regular session of June 11, 1958 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg. that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none. Proposal to Lay Co-axial Cable Underground Further information was presented on the proposal of Bozeman Community Television, Inc., to put their oo-axial cables underground. Their plans included plaoing amplifiers in traffic control boxes in numerous plaoes in the parking between the curb and sidewalk, these boxes to be mounted on concrete pedestals which would make a structure approximately 20" X 24" and apI roximately 4!' tall. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson. that this company be permitted to bury cable along streets, in acoordanoe with their request. subjeot to the following conditions: a A map must be furnished to the City to show this Company's underground cable - which map must be kept up-to-date by showing proposed additional underground installations prior to their being made. b All trenching, paving or sidewalk cutting, back-filling of trenches. replace- - ment of paving or concrete and similar work shall be done to meet the specifica- I tions of the City Engineer. c Amplifiers or other similar equipment to be installed above ground shall be installed in alleys and not in street area. d No permanent rights to use of street or alley area shall accrue to the company - by this action and cable or other installations made by the company may be removed by the City at any time. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none. Report The report of the Cemetery Board for the month of May, 1958 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the report be accepted and ordered filed, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin. Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Resignation - T. G. Haggerty from Airport Board Written resignation of T. G. Haggerty as a member of Gallatin Field Board was read. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the resignation be I accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none. Revision of Electrical Ordinance A proposed revision of the Electrical Ordinance was presented by Roy Smart. Building Inspector. Action was deferred pending further study of the ordinance. Intersection Light - 7th and Birch A request for an intersection light at the corner of North Seventh Avenue and Birch Street was reported. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Mayor Erwin, that the City Manager be authorized to have the Montana Power Company install a light at this intersection and the motion .'.1/1 was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. Salvage Rights at City Dump - R. T. Peterson Contract Proposal of R. T. Peterson, Helena, Montana, for operation of salvage rights to the City Dump was further considered. After disoussion, it was moved by Commissioner Berg, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a oontract according to the terms of Peterson's proposal, that the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to sign the contract for the I City of Bozeman, and Pacific Hide and Fur be notified that, after August 7, 1958. their contraot for salvage at the City Dump is terminated, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No votea those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No. none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Berg, that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Erwin, Commissioner Swanson and Commissioner Berg; those voting No, none. ~>>,.~ ~ . .. . .. - ~ .'
