Message: Dear Mayor and Commissioners, I was heartened that the Black-Olive proposal was
rejected on April 11. Some of the reasons I heard you collectively state were that 1. parking was
insufficient, 2. the site plan was overbuilt (i.e. five stories was too tall), and 3. it was a good
project proposed in the wrong place. A Bozeman Daily Chronicle article reported that a new
proposal has since been submitted which reduces the number of apartments and adds three
parking spaces (still not enough for each apartment to park a single vehicle) but does not reduce
the height of the building from five stories to three, or even four. After all the intense public
comment and hours of testimony about why a five story building at that site would not be
compatible with the existing adjacent neighborhood to the south and east, I urge you to reject it
again until it is more compatible. Thank you for listening, Angela Kociolek
