Message: We live on Cherry in New Hyalite View. We have a fireworks problem. Bzn code says
no fireworks within 300' of a park. The entire subdivision is in the prohibited zone. 18.50.040.
Prohibited or not, the size is prescribed. Some of our neighbors shoot off large and loud aerial
displays. I found an expired rocket that had to have traveled over 2 houses and tall shrubs to land
next to a pile of dry leaves in my side yard. We had a grass fire out here a couple of years ago,
but the City is not concerned enough to enforce its fireworks ordinance. Please remedy that.
Announce publicly that the aerial stuff and loud explosions will not be tolerated this year. I love
fireworks, but not when they are used illegally. I'm tired of spending a fortune on tranquilizers
for my poor dogs for the week-long fireworks show that about 3 of the folks in this
neighborhood subject us to every year. Please just enforce the ordinance. PS, we called the police
in 2016 and they blew us off.
