SUBJECT: 2014 Wastewater Collection System Facility Plan Update - Amendment
No. 8 for additional Construction Administration Service for the construction phase of the South
University District Sewer Main Project and additional ongoing Pretreatment Program Assistance.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve and authorize City Manager to sign Amendment No 8 to the
Professional Services Agreement.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the partially executed Amendment No. 8 with
Morrsion Maierle for the 2014 Wastewater Collection System Facility Plan Update. A
previously approved amendment added the construction phase services for the South University
District sewer main. Delays associated with an unknown AT&T fiber optic line caused the
project to extend beyond the anticipated completion date. This in turn caused the need for
additional construction inspection and administration in the amount of $25,325. The amendment
also includes $10,000 for ongoing assistance with the wastewater pretreatment program. This
effort will primarily focus on EPA issues associated with permitting discharges from the landfill
to the wastewater system.

FISCAL EFFECTS: $35,325 to be paid from the Wastewater fund and Wastewater Impact Fee
fund.
