The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building~ Wednesday. January 16, 1957 at laOO o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner
Erwin~ Commissioner Lowe. City Manager Hender8on~ Administrative Assistant Sales, City Attorney
Lovelace and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had:

Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by
Commissioner Erwin~ that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting ~e being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Co~is8ioner Lowe;
those voting No, none.
Right-of-way Policy for Water Expansion Project
A written policy for the acquisition of right-of-way for the water expansion project was presented
and read. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that this policy be
approved as the practical procedure for obtaining right-of..way, Bnd the motion carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson~ Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe;
those voting No, none.

The following reports were presented for the month of December, 1956:

It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe. that the reports be accepted and
ordered filed and the motion carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Swanson~ Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No~ none.

Communication.. Ambulance Association. Re: Purchase of Ambulance
A communication was read stating the intention of the Gallatin Ambulance Association to purchase
a new Buick ambulance for $7,066.00 and to trade in the present ambulance for an allowance of $1,000.00.
Funds on hand in the Treasury of the Gallatin Ambulance Association will be adequate to make this
purchase for cash at the time when delivery of a new ambulance can be made. The letter requested
suggestions regarding or criticism of the proposed purchase and stated that~ if there were none, the
Gallatin Ambulance Association proposed to prooeed with the purchase. No suggestions or criticisms
were presented by members of the City Commission.
Communication - Painters Local
Letter from the City Manager to Local #1141 Painters Union was read regarding the City's policy
on painting as set forth in letter to the Painters Local dated December 6, 1956. The letter was to
make of record a call made by Walter R. Patten, Business Agent of said Union, on the City Manager on
Januar,y 14, 1966 at which Mr. Patten stated that~ with the exception that glazing should be added to
the work to be done by painters, the terms and conditions set forth in the City Manager's letter of
December 6, 1956 are acceptable and approved by the Union which he represents
Application for Wholesale Beer License

An application from the Cardinal Distributing Company for a license to sell beer at wholesale
was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the license
be granted and the motion carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No~ none.
