The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building~ Wednesday~ January 23, 1967 at 1:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner
Erwin, Co~iss1onerLowe, City MailagerHenderson, Administrative Assistant Sales and_the Clerk. The
following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it W8S moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by
Commissioner Erwin~ that the minutes be aFproved as read and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe;
those voting No, none.
Water Works Project - Extension of Main North on 15th Avenue
It has been recommended by Morrison-Maierle, Consulting Engineers, and S. D. Waldorf, City
Engineer, that the proposed l4" loop distribution main on the west edge of the city continue north on the
line of 16th Avenue, projected from Koch Street to West Beall Street extended, then east on Beall Street
extended, such design to better serve pressure regulation in the area now served by city water system.
It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that the plans and specifications
be completed on the basis of their recommendation as per their letters of January lOth and 16t!, 1967
and the motion carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson,
Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Application of Gallatin F~rmers Company for Business License on North 7th
Application was read from the Gallatin Fanners Company for a business license to operate a retail
service station and conduct retail bulk sales at 411 No. Seventh Avenue. It was moved by Commissioner
Lowe~ seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the Gallatin Farmers Company be informed that a license
will be granted to operate a gasoline and oil station as described in Ordinance No. 792~ but that no
license will be issued to conduct retail bulk seles at this location, and the motion carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commiss ioner Erwin and Commissioner
Lowe; those voting No~ none.
Purchase of Water Meters
Upon the recommendation of the Water Superintendent, itwas moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded
by Comndssioner Lowe, that the City Manager be authorized to purchase 24 - 3/4" X 5/B- water meters,
and the motion carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson,
Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Installation of Light on Parking Lot at Mendenhall and Willson
Request has been made by Lux Transfer for a light on the parking lot at Mendenhall and Willson.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the City Manager be authorized
to have the Montana Power Company install a light on that parking lot~ end the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson~ Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner
Lowe; those voting No, none.
Application for Beer & Liquor License for V. }. W. Club
An application for a Beer and Liquor License for the V. F. W. Club was presented. It was moved
by Commissioner Erwin~ seconded by Commissioner Lowe, that this application be approved and the
license ordered granted and the motion wes carried by the followin~ Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye beiDg Mayor Swanson~ Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Renewal of Blanket Bond for City Employees
EXf-iration date of the blanket bond on city employees is February lB~ 1957. It was moved by
Commissioner Erwin~ seconded by Commissioner Lowe~ that the City Manager be authorized to renew the

blanket bond at the same principal coverage, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those
voting No, none.
Resolution No. 830 - Federal Aid for City Planning
Commission Resolution No. 830 was presented, entitled:

A RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COMMISSION OF' THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA AUTBORIZING THE MAYOR
OF SAID CITY TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR THE SAID CITY, THROUGH THE MONTANA STATE PLANNING
BOARD, TO THE HOUSING AND ROME FINANCE AGENCY FOR A GRANT OF $8,700.00 TO BE USED WITH
MATCHING FUNDS FURNISHED BY SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN FOR EMPLOYING TRAINED AND COMPETENT PER-
SONNEL TO PREPARE A MASTER PLAN FOR SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the resolution be passed
and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Water Works Project - Special Use Permit on Forest Service Land
The water works expansion project calls for installation of a dam and other improvements on
Forest Service property and application must be made to the Forest Service for a Special Use Permit.
It was moved by Commissioner Erwin, seconded by Commissioner Lowe~ that the Mayor be auUorized to
sign an application for Special Use Permit to make installation of 8 dam and other improvements on
F'orest Service property, and the motion carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Ordinance No. 794 - Creating and Establishing Fire Zones
Ordinance No. 794 was presented, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE CRD;ATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 779 OF
THE CITY OF BOZEMAN AND ALL ORDmANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY IN CONFtICT
HEREWITH.

It was moved by Commissioner Lowe~ seconded by Commissioner Erwin, that the Ordinance No. 794
be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Erwin and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time~ it was moved by
Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Erwin~ that the meeting adjourn, and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Brwin
and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No~ none.
